Then I guess we can expect that from 6th Feb when the closing times move earlier from 11pm to 10pm that last orders for food will be 9pm and last serving of drinks 9pm.

i cannot see what the problem is closing at 10pm/11pm.....
For quite a few years when we started going to Goa...EVERYTHING was closed by 10pm....
But that was when Goa itself didn't have so many visitors.
Some of the more popular restaurants are full early evening before people drift off to various bars - quite often we can't get in to eat in places like Fisherman's Cove and Mango before 9pm.
That in itself doesn't bother us but this early closing will affect us unless we go out stupid early to get a seat for our evening meal - and that will have a knock-on effect on our whole day as we eat lunch pretty early as it is otherwise we're not hungry in the evening.
I can see us having to choose between eating lunch or having a very early evening meal.
Tito's road should be interesting then .... .....Keith
what a relief, i can cope with 10/11 pm i will just get up earlier in the morning
Absolutely pathetic, I`m usually just getting something to eat about 9.30 pm, I so wish I booked Vietnam now
Could this be the straw that breaks the camels back
And now the wholesalers are threatening to close from now until the elections because of hassle from the officials!
Ok they just called back, 75% loss of what I have paid plus admin charges
However, the young lady said that if enough people complain to their tour operators then maybe a chance of some sort of action on flight changes being sanctioned.......... Oh well
Here's hoping......Keith

Sorry to say "KJF" it will also affect the South,
Its only one day in but he said they are being very strict about the elections this year and everyone so far is complying with the early closing times.

The 4 of us arrive around 3-00am on 3/2/2012, seeing as every thing shut around midnight last year we are going to turn our watches 7-1/2hrs forward instead of 5-1/2hrs problem solved.......... p.s. should have pick of beds at the shacks as well.
Had no problem getting a drink after 11pm last night The ban is in effect in both North and South. All the shack/bar/restaurant owners are really livid with the closing time ban.
