Hi again Darren, you wrote G-OOBK at the end of your reply. Im probably being particularly thick but what does it mean?

ChrissyR,

That's the registration of the aircraft that should be operating your flight tomorrow. There are 6 long haul ex-FCA 767-300/ER's in the fleet, and it should be that one. Photos of her here.

Me again Darren, have looked on the which aircraft thread but cant find what Im looking for. Is the ex First Choice 767-300ER 2-3-2 or 2-4-2?
Reply
ChrissyR,

All the information is on the first paragraph under Thomson Airways. A seat plan is linked on the third paragraph. Although the aircraft is branded First Choice, the airline operate under Thomson Airways air operators certificate since they merged a couple of years ago. The ex-FCA 767's are 2-3-2 throughout.

Have you tried logging into manage my booking and clicking on the link on that page which is called something like seats and extras

Yep tried that but the same error message comes up, even today when I was told I should be able to book the seats.

Will give them a call in a while and see if I can book by phone.

Mark :)

Called them a few minutes ago and no luck. They couldn't explain why they couldn't get to the seating plan either and suggested I try again in a couple of days time.

Hi
Off to cancun from Newcastle on 31 march. Any ideas what aircraft and seat configuration for this? Also, just seen on the Thomson airways timetable page that this flight arrives an hour earlier than the ones the week before and the week after, getting into CUN at 1340 not 1440. Anyone know why this is? It is meant to be going out via MAN but I don't know if may be the one on 31 March isn't so it's quicker. But then doesn't it need to stop at Manchester for more fuel?
I'm confused lol.
All info much appreciated!

flyingcruiser,

Please quote flight numbers when requesting aircraft information. There are often multiple flights. This ensure we get the correct flight information for you. I'm assuming you're on the NCL-CUN-NCL (TOM662/3)? The flight is operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER, probably an ex-First Choice aircraft and operates via Manchester outbound for a technical (fuel) stop. This is due the the runway at Newcastle now being long enough to allow the aircraft to take off with the required fuel load, hence it stops in MAN where the runways are much longer for fuel. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Hi Darren
Many thanks and apologies for omitting the flight number - it is indeed TOM662.
any idea how it arrives in CUN one hour earlier (1340) then the same flights the week before and after, despite leaving NCL at the same time (0755). I see this on the thomson airways timetable page:

Newcastle > Mexico, Cancun, 24 Mar 12-24 Mar 12
TOM 0662
07:55
14:40

Newcastle > Mexico, Cancun, 31 Mar 12-31 Mar 12
TOM 0662
07:55
13:40

Newcastle > Mexico, Cancun, 07 Apr 12-28 Apr 12
TOM 0662
07:55
14:40

Many thanks again

cheers

Hi Stephen ... the flight duration appears to be the same on each of those dates, the different timings are probably due to the clocks changing. Your flight is on 31 Mar, which is the week after clocks go forward in the UK, but the week before clocks go forward in Mexico.

... and I feel a bit stupid for not thinking of that!

flyingcruiser,

The aircraft operates a cruise charter to Barbados (TOM586/7) the day before, arriving back in the early hours of Sunday (0555) for your flight later that morning.

oap,

MAN-AYT-MAN (TOM436/513) are traditionally a Boeing 767-300/ER, but I won't be able to confirm it until the beginning of May.
