And I bet the perfume was cheaper in Jersey than at the airport!
Glad you had a good flight.
I haven't seen the one I've bought over here yet for some reason But there seems to be a fair few perfume shops over here, didn't expect that
It's lovely to read your posts about your first flight. It's almost 50years since I first flew (in a ramshackle old DC3 which I didn't think would make it over the channel) and for many of us who regard flying as a bit of a bore it's great to see your enthusiasm. Nice to see you chose your first flight with BA who allthough they have their negative points have always treated me with professionalism and friendliness.
I hope this flight to Jersey is the first of many in the future and I do hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday.
Judith
Thank you I chose BA as their pricing made sense, all the budget airlines and their add ons went right over my head so I went with someone who made sense Although didn't really speak to the cabin crew apart from when they offered a drink, I found the check in friendly and whatnot.
I have searched and cannot find the post, but can someone give me the link for the post re BA's free luggage allowance for charity please? In view of the horrendously high prices that TC are now charging to Tunisia, we are thinking of going with BA despite the long haul at both ends. TC do allow us free luggage for out orphanage, so do need that. Will post in General as well Many thanks Jenny xx
I don't recall such a post Jenny, and Search is not producing any results specific to BA. This is the only charity related page I can find on the BA website:
I can't find it either Jenny, nor can I remember the name of the lady I contacted at BA ,but I do remember I had to e-mail my request to her and I was immediawtely given an extra 23kg free to take stuff out to Croissant Rouge in Sousse. Of course this was last year, and looking at the link David has given it seems they may have changed their policy, but it might be worth contacting Customer Relations, either by phone or e-mail and see what they say. Best of luck. As you say, Thomas Cook prices for flights are beyond a joke - so much for supporting Tunisa.
Was it you who posted then Aslemma? Thanks for the reply - I knew that i had seen a post about it somewhere, but wasn't even sure that it was even on HT. I will contact them via the link that David posted. Thanks again. xx
Thanks for the link David - I will send a mail and see what I can do. xx
Yes, it was me Jenny and BA were superb. Another lady going to Sousse with TC at the same time picked up on the idea and they gave her an extra 15kg.
I have sent off an e mail so will let you know if i get a response - thanks again xx

It's not in this forum, that's why Search didn't it find it for me earlier. Or is it possible you have also discussed it in other topics in that forum or elsewhere ?
David
If you don't ask you won't get. Best of luck. I'm pretty sure I posted it in Tunisian Tales originally. xx
I know the topic your are talking about, it was one in the Tunisia forum and it was this http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=150970&p=1520203&hilit=just+had+a+result#p1520203 topic, Aslemma I don't think you ever gave a link, you mentioned BA and having spoken and emailed to a lady.
You did mention that you had PM'd somebody the info so if you haven't cleared your messages you might still have the info in there

What an excellent piece of detective work Graham. Unfortunately I can't find a link to he e-mail but Jenny has already set the wheels in motion so no doubt she will get a reply from BA soon. I just hope they are still being charitable as reading the link you gave it seems they may have stopped this.
Thanks to you all. You are obviously much cleverer than me as I spent ages searching on here and T.C as i had no idea where i had seen it; and never found a mention anywhere! Will let you know if I hear anything. xx
Just to let you know that I have not received a reply from the e mail to BA, so will contact on my return and let you know the outcome. Thanks again xx
I really don't know why companies provide e-mail addresses if they have very little intention of replying to e-mails. It has happened to me twice in the past few months.
Ask the Tunisian businesses that! The very great majority NEVER answer e mails and if you ask why, they answer that they prefer fax. The fact that the rest of the business world moved on from these years ago is besides the point. Yet another reason why this country needs to get it's act together to move on - if it ever does!
