Thinking of booking a holiday to Crete for later this year and I have decided to book a package holiday with jet2 and am considering a taxi transfer booked through the tour operator . I know there were taxi strikes last year and I was wondering would they (jet2) arrange an alternative .
Was anyone affected by the strikes accross Greece last year and if so how did the tour operators cope.
There was a coach strike when we arrived in Corfu in 2008 and Thomson put everyone in taxis
Providing it was a proper package holiday then the TO would sort it out for you. You might finish up on a bus but they would see that you got to the hotel/airport. Thomson put us in a taxi when we missed the bus. They had told us that we should go on the next one which did not arrive. - If it was a dynamic package then I have no idea.
Last year when we went to Zante we had gone independant so was getting a taxi to the hotel which is only 5 mins away but the strike was on when we got there but luckily we had emailed the hotel and the owner came and collected us in her car, we couldve paid thomas cook for a transfer as a lot of people were doing but was costing a fortune
I have booked taxi transfer to resort through olympic and just opted for the coach on the way home .
