Nigelfoxy ... it does seem to be a very confused situation with so many conflicting media reports coming out in the last 24 hours. Yesterday, the impression was that international flights would be withdrawn in stages between 25 March and 10 April, with the London service being the last to be withdrawn. But some of the later reports suggest that no international flights will operate from this weekend (25 March) onwards. There is still a great deal of speculation about the possibility of aircraft being grounded imminently due to the non payment of fees. I hope Southall Travel may be able to research beyond the media reports and provide you with some accurate information.
Just incase , do you have travel insurance ??
I spoke with a Kingfisher Rep yesterday and have been told that they are just taking each day as it comes, If you live anywhere near London , might be w
orth a trip to Southall Travel itself
This protection doesn't apply to flights that are bought directly from an airline.
Flight-only arrangements bought through a travel agent aren't always protected under the ATOL scheme. You should always ask. Where travel arrangements aren't already protected, most ABTA Members will be able to arrange protection using a suitable insurance policy.

I was due to fly from Goa to Delhi on the 6.30am flight to catch the Delhi to Heathrow flight but, they have cancelled the early morning flight and now only operate the 2.30pm flight from Goa. To cut a long story short, I arrived at Goa for the flight at 5am, 9 hours later left for Delhi via Mumbai, 2 hour wait there and onto Delhi, 19 hour wait there and got home tonight at 8.30pm
OMG!! sounds like a nightmare! - Kingfisher would only offer me outward flights (via Delhi with an overnight stop!) they conveniently ignored my booked flights to return 15/4 via Mumbai!! - i was told to ask when we arrived how they would get us home. In the end I said i wanted a full refund (which I'm still awaiting and seriously wonder if i will ever get!!) and re-booked. I'm going to try to ask at every KFA desk i see for a refund, that should be a laugh! - what farce eh. Pleased you are home safe...finally
A lot of their airport desks are closed Nigel. They have been cancelling flights on a daily basis!! I was speaking to an Indian women at Delhi and she was saying that as far as she knows Kingfisher will not be flying any plane from April 9th!!!!! Will be interesting to see what happens!!! I doubt many people will ever trust them again!!!
Had an e-mail from them Friday with offer's they have on and offering double airmile's so it seem's they are stiil willing to take people's money off them if they are daft enough to book.
They will take your money alright but when it comes to your flight it's a different thing!!
India's Kingfisher airline asked to pay service tax:
Dear Travel Partners,
We wish to announce our summer schedule that has come into force from March 25, 2012. This is a limited schedule and we will be surely adding flights, as we progress forward. We made a conscious decision to curtail our International operations and implement a schedule which serves the key sectors within India. As a result, all our flights between India and London will be temporarily suspended with effect from 11th April, 2012 onwards until further notice. On behalf of Kingfisher Airlines we sincerely regret inconvenience caused to you and many of your customers who were / are booked on Kingfisher Airlines, due to the unforeseen schedule disruption. Our call centre staff have already commenced the process of informing the guests.
As you are aware, we have been temporarily suspended from IATA-BSP and are working with IATA team very closely towards a forward plan. We have maintained a deposit with IATA BSP to ensure that refund requests for all confirmed reservations held on flights which have been cancelled will be made for the original booking via BSP Link. We are in the process of finalizing the process with IATA BSP and will share the same with you in the coming week. In the meantime, please forthwith advise all your customers who were holding confirmed reservations for Kingfisher flights between the UK and India from 11 April, 2012 onwards, of the suspension of those services and maintain a record of when the passengers were informed along with their preference for reimbursement or re-routing. Since Kingfisher Airlines may not have the contact details of all the guests who have booked tickets through you, kindly ensure that you comply with all required regulations including EC 261/2004. Kingfisher will not be liable for any costs or damages or other consequences arising out of any failure on your part to do so and will look to you for indemnification.
All allocations of Kingfisher flights between India and London from 11 April 2012 where no confirmed reservation has been made by the date of this letter are hereby revoked until further notice.
Regards,
