Elaine. Will definately give them a visit. The last time we stayed in that area, was 20 years ago,
we stoped at the Las Palamos Hotel. Over the past years we have been to many hotels/areas.in Costa del sol, but our fav/ one has to be La Carihuela, we enjoyed the old beech bars that were there.
But they I believe had to go.

The beach bars ( Chiringuitos) are still here,. :tup

There was a plan to get rid of them- basically, it involved the square area they occupied on the beach and the licences they paid to the Coastal dept- I believe that has now been shifted from the Coastal dept to the Junta de Andalusia - and even the previous Prime Minister got involved after massive demonstrations in Madrid.

Too long a story to type on my tablet- they are here and still doing a roaring trade, and the threat of their closure seems to have disappeared.
