Last year I got a letter from Thomson saying they were no longer doing the Holiday Inn, and moving us to the Ramada Caravela.
We weren't happy, but went along with an open mind, and absolutely loved the hotel.
In January we booked to go again this December. On Monday I received an email saying they are no longer doing the Ramada and have moved us to the Radisson Blu!
We don't mind too much as we do know the area, whereas last year we didn't have a clue about the Ramada.
They have also upped us from B&B to HB.
Some hotels are now re-allocating rooms previously set for UK tour companies, in favour of more lucrative deals elsewhere.
A suggestion to other members intending to make bookings and have come across this....
If the accommodation of your choice is no longer available through the UK tour company, try contacting directly, as hotels allocate only a proportion of rooms to tour companies, with others for 'independent' guests, and so may still have availability.
(Have done this and was offered a good discounted rate as a 'returning valued customer')
