The coral sea hotel is brilliant highly recommened :sun2

Stick to your gun and dont let them fob you off with any hotel if its they fault with over booking you will get what you want but Coral Sea is really nice just look at reviews. :sun2

We've been to coral sea and yes it was great!! Park inn has changed its name from Golden Resort as we had originally booked there last year as they were bilding a small water park in it but it wasn't going to be open on time. Have a look at Golden resort reviews on here.

Which tour operator have you booked with as CS was first choice

booked with panorama part of thomas cook now.have been looking at concorde el salam and hilton sharks bay.My head is not with it such a shock ,didn't expect to have to re look. :( thank you to posters xx

Hiltons shark bay keeps getting good reviews :cheers Have you had a look with different tour operators to see if you can get a better deal and then get a refund. When were you going and what did you pay?

I have just phoned them and they say it hasn't been changed on my booking,they are getting someone from operations to phone me!!!

Have tried to get through to operations who sent out the email,but after several calls saying they" are busy please call back later" and one when I eventually got through and was on hold for 45 mins and gave up ,I don't know what else to do .Would we be entitled to compensation for them changing it at such a late date ?Any advice gratefully received.

yes you are entiltled to compensation and it goes up the nearer to your holiday it gets to when they notify you of the change. check terms and conditions in the brochure at the back. there should be a section titled "what if we change your holiday" or something similar to that.

If you are not happy with the destination they are offering you, then you are entitled to a full refund.

Its such a shame they wait until the last minute to tell you. Most hotels are are genuinely good sell out very quickly, this happened to us in Cyprus.

Hi,still no word .Tried the 0800 number but they are unable to help ,it has to be operations they did try to put me through but got the same "busy try later message"I have now been in a queue since 12 mid day.8p a minute nice profit for some one.best thing is i'm a share holder of thomas cook group :duh

Please advise me,spent nearly 3 hrs on hold yesterday and had to put phone down ,this was nearly 15 quid on 1 phone call alone.Sent 3 emails to customer relations and they have been deleted unread.I'm at my wits end cause we really don't want to stay at there choice of hotel( :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Completely unsatisfactory IMO hassie . try ringing that 0800 number again and demand to speak to the customer services manager and request that you are rang back immediately by the operations department or demand access to another number that is not an 0870 or 0845 number ..Have you been through the list on http://www.saynoto0870.com I am fuming on your behalf :rage I wouldnt spend one more minute hanging onto that number you were given .

I phoned the 0800 number earlier and they are unable to help and did try to put me through but same old story no advisors call back later.Every time i ring they say they will e.mail operations to call me.Actually just got through to 0800 again now and they are refusing to even transfer me to operation because of there call load. :que

If you just can't get through on the phone, I think your best bet would be to send an old-fashioned proper letter, registered post or whatever it is to get a signature. Enclose a printout of their email offering you the alternative hotel and say this is not an acceptable alternative and will they please give you a choice of hotels. Put all your phone numbers and references on the letter and keep a copy. There's a chance they may take some notice of a letter and it might be worth a try.

A fax would be good, but there's no fax no on their website. Maybe a Thomas Cook shop could give you a fax number?

Yes thank you, have thought of this and will be sending a letter.But I have two weeks left till I go and when I try to look for an alternative hotel the choice available is going down each time.I wrote an email to the person who deleted my mail with out opening it and she has replied that because I'd sent more than one titled the same they thought they where all the same and my first email was in a queue waiting to be delt with.I have mailed her back to say thank you for replying but can they hurry up as I'm going in two weeks !!! :really

Well, that's comforting to know that your email is actually in a queue waiting to be dealt with. At least they aren't just ignoring you. I should hope for the best and if you end up at the Park Inn, try and enjoy your holiday anyway. Don't let it spoil it for you. At least you will be near the waterpark by the sound of it! From the reviews it sounds like the hotel is OK, but the food less so.

I really feel for you as we has horrendous time last year with same problems and ended up in horrible hotel, but we got moved to another hotel after afew days. Lot of hassle but worth it in end.

When we got back home we demanded a meeting with a manager at FC head office. We got a full refund and compo, so we are going on a free holiday this year.

Another alternative would be to see if you canbook a late deal with anyone and then get a refund on this holiday.

Have you tried ringing the booking line and explaining to their manager as they always answer when they think you are booking. Suprise suprise :swear

Hello again just finished work.
I'm very tempted to re book and get my money back but really scared I'll be out of pocket .Spoke to a customer today and they have just come back and didn't like the hotel.If I can't speak to them how can I get my money back.I am going to write a letter tonight and send it recorded delivery tomorrow but still no quick resolution and I should be there two weeks today .Oh I really don't know what to do :?: :?: :?:
