Hi - We stayed at the Sunshine Park in March this year, the building work was going on then at the side of the hotel, this didn't have any effect on our holiday at all, there was only a few blokes working on the site mainly hand tools so the noise was minimal, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

The hotel itself is basic but clean, the staff are really nice and we found the rep for Odyssey very helpful. There was a few complained while we were there re the aesthetics, one couple only stayed one night. Just go with an open mind after all it is a 2* hotel.

It looks like there is a lot of building working going off in Candolim at the moment, we have also received a letter from First Choice stating that there is building work ongoing at our hotel, which is the Silver Sands so it looks like we are in the same boat, just have to wait and see when we get there.

thanks so much DebnPete, it's reassuring to know we should be ok. It was just a big shock to open my invoice this lunch and see that!! As for Olympic/Odessey 'just finding out', your post tells me they're more than aware of it!

I feel much better now, we only use the hotel to sleep and shower etc and have only ever used 2* in Goa before, so we're not expecting the earth
