you can get one at any mobile phone shop, but they are now taking about two weeks to activate.all your details have to be sent away and checked first

my samsung phone will it need a sim card then because last year Nitesh couldnt unlock it. I am just going to wait and get a dongle its the easiest way I think

Yep unlock required.
Give your service provider a call and tell the you need it unlocking.
Tell them the truth that you just want to use it on holiday as the roaming cost is too high.
If you have had the phone long enough they may not charge.
I've had phones unlocked by Vodafone without charge.
My last iphone was with tesco and it unlocked itself
My new one came from apple so is unlocked.
If you have to pay anything it will be about £20.

Do you know if they are still messing about when you buy a sim?
There was talk that it takes days to get a sim.
Take plenty of photocopies of your passport.
You will need it for your sim as well as the tourist in hotel forms.
If you can contact your phone guy it may be an idea to pre-order your sim

It took 4 working days to get an Idea sim sorted out.

I bought a Reliance dongle last year and re-activated it when I arrived a couple of weeks ago. I worked immediately and reception is excellent.

tonight I leave but Nitesh new I needed a dongle 3 weeks ago so hopefully it can be sorted quicker if not my blog can wait a few days lol

Don't forget your photocopies of your passport and visa.
