Costa Adeje is very pleasant and lots of 4*/5* hotels.

You could always stay elsewhere. Los Christianos and catch the 350 bus to El Medano. Or Los Abrigos which is closer.

Thanks for the replies. We have now booked the El Medano which is on the beach near the windsurfing. We were not keen on the more built up resorts and wouldn't want to travel to the windsurfing beach. Hubby likes to get up, have breakfast and then get out there. I can just pootle around at my leisure or even stay around the hotel. Has anyone stayed at this hotel? It was cheap so am not expecting luxury but I hope it'll be warm enough to crash out and read a few books.
