Used one of these for my recent hols - managed to pack everything inc all sun lotions and mossie potions for both of us for two weeks and it weighed 14kgs :) It stood up well to the journey so I'm pleased with my purchase. I just need to modify it a bit as its a black case and not easy to identify on the carousel. I'm going to get creative with some fabric paint I think!

Hi,

I bought the very largest of these cases when they first came out at a cost of over £55.00. Regrettably the very first holiday I used it for it came through the carousel with a big tear in it :( having said that, because of the cost, we duly taped some 'gaffa' (unsure of the spelling, but that's what my other half calls it!) tape over the tear and it has since seen stood the test of time and is still ok after another 3/4 holidays. The only other drawback I find with it is that it does not have a side handle and proves difficult to pick up when putting it on the belt. This may not be so important with the smaller sizes but it does prove difficult with the very large one. I think we may just have been unlucky with the rip. The material may be very strong but it doesnt take much for it to be caught in the process and although it is strong it is also very thin and could be so easily caught.

Just thought I would share my views on these cases with you.

The newest of these cases does now have a side handle. I think the manufacturer must of realised their mistake.

The cases are guarenteed for 10 years, didn't you think of taking it back to where you bought it from for a replacement? I would of done ! Mind you I guess having the gaffa tape on it makes it stand out on the carousel :rofl

hi i have also bought 2 of these suitcases, 1 from matalan and 1 from coop, got a 30inch and a23 inch, they really are light, have just started packing for my hols, so i will report back on how they held up at the airports when i get back.

Just to let peeps know.....Matalan have the pink/white print cabin baggage size Sub 0 g suitcases in their sale for £15 instead of £30....new stock seems to be £35 so thought this was a good deal and bought one. Not sure if they have other sizes as I got the last one :)

Hi, can i just BUMP this topic up please and ask if anyone has managed to pack a full 20kg of luggage without any problems into one of these "worlds lightest suitcases"

We are going away soon and need to buy a new case. I have looked a them and they look very flimsy, the large one has a good capacity , but how this would work out with 20kg in is baffling me. ?

Any advice from anyone who uses these without any problems would be very welcome - thanks

I have read that there can be a problem with everything falling to the bottom of the case and making it bulge.

Yes , i did read that somewhere, I have been looking at them and I can see there is a difference between the sub zero brand and these. These have 4 wheels and the sub zero have only 2.

I just think a company making these shoud advertise that the case is capable of taking the standard 20 kg weight , but I cant see any mention of the weight anywhere. :que

thanks for the reply.

We have several of these cases that we have used for the last 3 years with no problems and we don't
travel light  maybe some light scuffing from airport handling that you would get with any case.

i have had 30kgs in the large case when we were flying to Australia - not a problem, no problem with 'bulging' at the bottom either.

We have the four wheel sub zero cases which make for much easier wheeling about than the two. The cases do bulge when near fully loaded, only to be expected I suppose when the case material is more cloth-like than hard shell.

I had 23kg in my large 2 wheel one and it was nowhere near full. I nearly ended up putting bubble wrap on top of my stuff to stop it from sliding about. I put something firm at the bottom in case it felt the need to bulge, and there was no problems. I was quite impressed.

I have had mine for about 2 years now and it has been used on both long and short haul holidays. I have found no problems with it at all and it still looks brand new with no signs of wear and tear, I would happily recommend them :tup
