Cigarette lighters

At airports, and we are flying from Birmingham this Saturday, it states no liquids unless in those little clear bags. My question is, where do you stand with see through lighters? You can plainly see the liquid inside. Can they be taken through ok, thank you
each passenger [of smoking age] is permitter to carry on their person/in hand baggage ONE lighter for personal use, it should be placed in a tray with other items for scanning.. do not place lighters or pressurised containers in hold bagage as the may leak when the airpressure drops
