Daughter and BF are looking for a one weeks holiday in July. Self catering or B&B. They don't have much money. They are not looking for clubs / nightlife in particular. Somewhere with things to do in the evening, bars, a beach, shops etc.
Can anyone suggest a resort or even a place to stay?
Many thanks

Apartment rental in beautiful area of Turkey, perfect location for a wonderful holiday http://www.turuncapartment.com
Thank you Alfie. I will pass on the information.
They could have a look at Bitez on the Bodrum Peninsula. It is a lovely resort with lots of restaurants, a few bars and shops and a nice beach. It is also just 5 minutes by taxi from lively Gumbet, if they fancied having a night out, or 15 minutes by bus from Bodrum.
Thank you Kedi.Y. Having only ever been to the port at Kusadasi whilst on a cruise, I don't know much about Turkey or the different resorts. They will take a look .
Just make sure that they are in or NEAR Hisaronu as it peters out into Ovacik which some B&B/Hotels were saying WAS Hisaronu but it would be a fair way out. Plus they have also built up into the hills overlooking Hisaronu/Ovajik now. If we were placed in Ovacik I would always ask WHICH side of the Orka Hotel were we....Hisaronu side then it's fine and only 15min walk into town...but if it was Fethye side I'd give it a miss as we'd have to rely on dolmus or taxi to get us home.
It is situated in a large bay with stunning scenery backed by pine clad hills.
There are many good restaurants and we have found it to be cheaper than other resorts.
The sunbeds on the beach are free which if they like the beach this can cost quite a bit over the week.
There are 2 parts to the resort ,the main resort at the beach and the old village about 10-15 minutes walk away which is lovely.
There are many apartments, small family run hotels which offer B&B and big AI hotels.
You can take a Dolmus to Turunc over the hills or go by taxi boat but this may be too quiet for a young couple.
Marmaris in the other direction can be visited by the same and although its big and not every ones cup of tea the Marina is worth a visit especially on an evening.
That's great Betty and Jay. Thank you both x
I had a look around it when it first opened about 5 years ago and it was lovely then.
It is very reasonable and is sold on B&B basis.
There are loads of good restaurants over the road and the beach is only 5-10 minutes walk away.
Thanks Jay. Is this hotel in the brochures or do you have to book direct with them ?
I get Hays travel to book the flight, hotel and transfers for me as I am not confident to book on line.
If you look on Trip Advisor there are photos and reviews,
The reason I am recommending it is because it is very reasonable and works out cheaper than SC as breakfast is included. They are also serving evening meals this year.
I wouldnt mind staying here myself but we may be having a break from Turkey this year as we have been so many times and my husband fancies trying some where different.
Having said that we say that every year and always end up going back in October every year.
I think you have already booked again for Icmeler Jay? You just can;t keep away from the place.
Couldn't recommend Olu Deniz more - I went with my GF last year and it was brilliant. Beach, lovely restaurants, lovely locals, nice bars but nothing to rowdy!
I liked the fact it was a compact resort but with a square, bars/restaurants and shops all within walking distance and with the wooden gulets moored up alongside.
It's definitely a place I would like to revisit and that's more than 10 years ago!
