There are several good resorts that they may like. In most resorts there is plenty to do if you want to get out and about - there are always great value for money boat trips, and the public transport is very reliable. Turunc is small but with loads of bars and restaurants, and in a fantastic setting. There are regular taxi boats into Marmaris, for a lively night out or shopping, and also you can get taxi boats to very quiet bays for a relaxing day on the beach. Icmeler is the next resort on from Turunc and is a lot bigger, but not so 'in your face' as Marmaris, so they may like it there. Dalyan is also very beautiful, bigger than Turunc, with a beautiful beach and quite near the airport. Good accommodation is very reasonable in Turkey and the cost of eating out is also very cheap., Sure they should be able to find somewhere they like, without breaking the bank.

They could have a look at Bitez on the Bodrum Peninsula. It is a lovely resort with lots of restaurants, a few bars and shops and a nice beach. It is also just 5 minutes by taxi from lively Gumbet, if they fancied having a night out, or 15 minutes by bus from Bodrum.

Thank you Kedi.Y. Having only ever been to the port at Kusadasi whilst on a cruise, I don't know much about Turkey or the different resorts. They will take a look .

;) been to quite a few places in Turkey and would recommend Hisaronu/Olu Deniz. Best area to stay is IN Hisaronu itself where nightlife/restaurants are more plentiful than down at Olu Deniz. The beach area of Oluz Deniz is approx 10minutes by regular dolmus but far better to dolmus back and forth to beach and be in Hisaronu for the evenings. Been approx 7 times but not for a few years now. Both our boys have been there on their own with girlfriends...youngest approx 4 times. Lots to do in the area. The big town of Fethye is about 30 minutes by dolmus in opposite direction...so you're really getting three resorts in one.

Just make sure that they are in or NEAR Hisaronu as it peters out into Ovacik which some B&B/Hotels were saying WAS Hisaronu but it would be a fair way out. Plus they have also built up into the hills overlooking Hisaronu/Ovajik now. If we were placed in Ovacik I would always ask WHICH side of the Orka Hotel were we....Hisaronu side then it's fine and only 15min walk into town...but if it was Fethye side I'd give it a miss as we'd have to rely on dolmus or taxi to get us home.

We have been to 12 different resorts over the years and just on keep going back to Icmeler.
It is situated in a large bay with stunning scenery backed by pine clad hills.
There are many good restaurants and we have found it to be cheaper than other resorts.
The sunbeds on the beach are free which if they like the beach this can cost quite a bit over the week.
There are 2 parts to the resort ,the main resort at the beach and the old village about 10-15 minutes walk away which is lovely.
There are many apartments, small family run hotels which offer B&B and big AI hotels.
You can take a Dolmus to Turunc over the hills or go by taxi boat but this may be too quiet for a young couple.
Marmaris in the other direction can be visited by the same and although its big and not every ones cup of tea the Marina is worth a visit especially on an evening.

There is a hotel named the Kapmar in Icmeler which is being refurbished this winter but it has had great reviews and is in a great spot right on the new square overlooking the fountains.
I had a look around it when it first opened about 5 years ago and it was lovely then.
It is very reasonable and is sold on B&B basis.
There are loads of good restaurants over the road and the beach is only 5-10 minutes walk away.

Thanks Jay. Is this hotel in the brochures or do you have to book direct with them ?

Its available with Jet2 holidays but is also sold by travel Republic,Hotels4U and Sunshine.com.and sold by Thomas Cook hotels.
I get Hays travel to book the flight, hotel and transfers for me as I am not confident to book on line.
If you look on Trip Advisor there are photos and reviews,
The reason I am recommending it is because it is very reasonable and works out cheaper than SC as breakfast is included. They are also serving evening meals this year.
I wouldnt mind staying here myself but we may be having a break from Turkey this year as we have been so many times and my husband fancies trying some where different.
Having said that we say that every year and always end up going back in October every year. :tup

Couldn't recommend Olu Deniz more - I went with my GF last year and it was brilliant. Beach, lovely restaurants, lovely locals, nice bars but nothing to rowdy!

I really liked Bodrum although I was only there a couple of nights on a visit to our local resort office when I was working for a UK tour operator.

I liked the fact it was a compact resort but with a square, bars/restaurants and shops all within walking distance and with the wooden gulets moored up alongside.

It's definitely a place I would like to revisit and that's more than 10 years ago!
