Anyone contemplating car hire in the Med area would be well advised to give DOYOUSPAIN a wide berth.
We booked with them for September and had some difficulty in getting info on the payment of motorway tolls.
We made it absolutely clear that we would only entertain a booking where there was no insurance excess, except for rubber & glass.
They took our money and sent a voucher for Airauto, their car provider for Faro.
When we arrived at airport, the airauto rep made it clear that he would not release a car unless i gave him my credit card imprint and signed a form agreeing to an excess of €1000.
We had to accept as we didn't have time to get quotes elsewhere.
On our return i complained to DYS who deny receiving clear instructions regards this excess.
I now intend to report them to the Spanish authorities in Madrid as i consider their business practice to be fraudulent or taking money under false pretences.
Airauto's rep advises that i'm not the only one to raise such a complaint.
