Anybody know the best way to do this journey. Jet2 have quoted about £240 for taxi transfer. Will only have one suitcase, one rucksack and a small bag.
Thanks
Carol
Some years ago I went by bus to the train station then train to Florence but there is now a coach that goes directly to Florence from the Airport only €5 each way.

Here's the link direct to the coach information & booking, from Judith's helpful link:-
Thanks for all your help but unfortunately I have just noticed the times of the flights from East Midlands - 6.30 leaving but 10.25 returning, which would make it very early.

suggests that as long as you can get to the railway station in Florence OK that it would still be possible to get to the airport in plenty of time for a 10.25 departure. Jet2's bag check-in desks and bag drop close 40 mins before departure and even if you didn't want to cut it too fine the 7.45am bus from the railway station is scheduled to arrive at 8.45am going you an hour before they close. If it was me, even if I thought that was cutting it too fine I would get up in time to catch the 6.40am bus if it meant I could save over £200 compared to taking a taxi. €10 versus £240 - no contest for me even if you have to take a taxi from the hotel to the rail station pick-up point.
