Can anyone recommend a decent hotel in Rome near the railway stations.

You need to be a bit circumspect because the area within a few blocks of Termini station is not the best. However there are plenty of small hotels on the Via Palestro/Via Montebello area IF you are prepared to leg it each time up to the 3rd, 4th or even 6th floor!

They have now decided to rent an apartment .. The young lady comes from Italy so they should be ok!
