I am on my third one since April. Same problem each time and I barely use it. But I think this third one is a reconditioned one and I'm not having that when it is a flaw on their part. One agreed it was a mistake and said they would arrange a new one to be sent. No record of that call at all despite me clicking the link for them to phone. Yesterday's pne tried to convince me I didn't have a reconditioned one despite it saying it was reconditioned on the box. So I asked him to put that in writing in an email which he agreed to do but of course didn't. Now I have contacted them again and am awaiting someone to actually phone me knowing what the problem and solving it. I am not pressing any links for a call again!
I have had the original kindle, the paperwhite and kindle fire already with no problems and wish I had stuck with the fire. OH had surprised me with it as he thought it would be perfect for travelling.

Oh I am just about at the end of my tether.
I did get an email back- a generic one that is actually almost identical to the first email reply I had got. Completely ignoring my query as to whether I had a new or reconditioned replacement.
So I emailed back and said- no I wasn't happy as they had not answered my question. I had to have a new kindle or they needed to refund my money( and it was £300).
In the meantime- my latest kindle finally appeared on my orders page.- down as a new one.
Thank god I thought.
But no- 10 mins later I got a further reply saying it was reconditioned and to press the link given to be connected to someone.....Who is the boy who had to spend eternity rolling a boulder up a hill?
Have you lost the will to live reading this? So have I!
Anyone thinking of getting a kindle fire hdx- don't bother!

amazon record calls so just speak to a manager give them date time and name of operative and ask that they review the call recording and call you back in 24 hrs. if they operative has lied to you then the manager will climb hills to help.

when you call up always say the replacement will be brand new and a recon wont it.

yes I am going to ask to speak to a manager tomorrow. I am not clicking any more links for a call. I just couldn't be bothered after the last email today. I need to be in a calmer frame of mind :) However, they are already telling me that there is no record of the first call at all, which I think is strange.
