I arrived back in London today after 2 weeks in Es Cana and just wanted to have my say.
When we booked, the resort came across as being a fantastic place - kind of in between San An and a quieter place in terms of nightlife. A few clubs, some bars, lovely beach... Well, perhaps it was the time of year, but I wouldn't reccomend Es Cana as a place for couples who want nightlife in resort. All I can say is thank gawd for Charlies! We spent 90% of our time there and loved it, but everywhere else seemed to be bingo, quizzes, rubbish acts singing 60's songs or are more than half empty with no life! The restaurant next door to Charlies (Mar Vent I think) was also a blessing - fantastic food, fantastic service and lovely views onto the beach/sea. We ate there 10 times out of 14 (sad I know but seriously, it's delicious!).
I was unimpressed with San An and am just pleased we didn't end up getting the three busses there and back! Yeah the bay was pretty with it all lit up and lovely, but then so is Es Cana. The West End was nasty and dirty and I have no idea why it isn't done up a bit! I'm not into House music so perhaps that's why I didn't 'get it', but the prices were also ridiculous (9euros for 2 cokes, no alcohol, and 2 apckets of crisps) so it must be a really expensive night out if you're into all that! Apart from that, Bar M was lovely and Pussycats was a bit weird but OK. Best things about San An were the sunset and the Nandos!
Ibiza Town was lovely, worth a couple of busses but get a taxi back (24euros). Go in the night time, it's really pretty and has so much life! I think all the beautiful people of Spain must go there, everyone is gorgeous! Make an effort to go to the top if the cathedral (some lovely restaurants on your way too!) as the view is lovely & very satisfying! Also check out the Marina for some yachts which are out of this world!
I stayed at Zodiac Aparts which were very basic but perfect for us and very spacious. We were lucky enough to have a sea view which was really lovely, especially the sun rising - awesome! Matt who works there was lovely, others a bit moody but they do work very hard indeed. Pool was lovely, seemed to be the centre of Es Cana in the day time! Never short of sun beds though. I loved it! The private beach reminded me of a building site with all that horrible 'sand' and fag butts etc so didn't go there much, but the rock pools are lovely and so much fun at about 5 ish as there are lots of lovely fish in there and it's so warm! Lots of little waves which is fun too. Beware though, there were some reports of jelly fish around the rocks. We never heard of anyone being stung though.
As previously read, there were some major storms in Es Cana - what an amazing sight! We got soaked to the core but it was great fun! Watching it from the balcony was brill too.
Es Cana was great for families/much older couples (we're 24/27) so would recommend it for them but it wasn't enough for us. I'm not sure I'd go to Ibiza again but did very much enjoy my fortnight.
One last thing, if you take a trip across to Formentera (which is gorgeous, almost Carribean like) don't get the sun beds as are 10euros EACH and take food and drink as only found 1 place to get anything and it was 12euros for a burger and 3euros for an ice lolly. An expensive day!
I hope I haven't gone on too much

Thanks to everyone for all your help before we left! I'm off to bed in preperation for a big lay in in the morning now! Night night xx
PS Check out Brotherhood http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/brohood/index.jhtml at Charlies and across Ibiza - made my fornight, they're brill.
