Hi
Wondered if anyone could help me. I have just returned from Las Vegas and booked via booking.com. When checking out of the hotel we were charged some $286 extra in resort fee taxes from our stay. What is all that about? Does anyone know what these taxes go to and how long this has been in force?
Seems such an absolute con - as if the hotel does not make enough money from you as it is..
Infuriating

Hi Goddard1 - agreed that it's not the way things should be done but more info here:
We are returning to the Platinum hotel in April. We will be paying resort fees for the first time. Its a non casino hotel so i don't think the fees are as high as others. However they have brought in a wine hour and i think we will make good use of that!
We stayed in the Mirage and I just felt they were too much. It just put such a downer on the experience. Kind of felt like being made to pay VAT at the end without being told.
Like me to see if they go now Trumpton is in charge....
Booking.com should have made it clear there was resort tax. Poor show on them. Mirage looks a lovely hotel. Did you try the Big Roller? Was wondering if it was worth it.
Casino was manic and it had a great nightclub in side. One of the croupeires told me they pump fresh oxygen into the casino to ensure everyone stays awake so they gamble more. How true I don't know but what a move.
Rooms were great and big.
I have heard about the oxygen too! I remember going through Balleys on our way to the Strip one evening and when we actually returned the following late morning I noticed a woman we had seen the night before, in the same outfit and on the same machine. I am pretty sure she hadnt moved!
Hahahaha. Bet they spend their life savings in their.
Yes. Loads of pawn shops with Rolex watches in their windows
