I had recently visited Amritsar for a two day visit to see the Golden Temple and other heritage sites. i was pleasantly surprised to see that this city has gone through a major overhaul and is currently one of the most attrative tourist destination in India. The market area and the streets around the Golden Temple resemble a city in Italy with cobbled street, lined pavements, water fountain and attractive lamposts. Some of the heritage sights too have been given a facelift and you learn a lot about the culture and heritage of Punjab.
