Don't know if others have looked at their passports re validity for travel after March 29th?
If we leave without a deal (as is looking increasingly likely) then for travel in the EU, as I read it, one will need to ignore the expiry date (which includes any extra months added on when renewed) and have more than 6 months left before the 10th anniversary of the date of issue!
I've nearly got caught out -I was in the act of booking a holiday for June this year when I noticed something on Martin Lewis's site - my expiry date is April 2020 BUT the passport was issued August 2009, so using the 6 month left rule, I won't be able to use this passport for a Summer holiday:(
Wonder how many people are going to be very unhappy this Easter, when the airline refuses them boarding (assuming no deal)??
The papers have been full of the information for some weeks but experience tells me that plenty will ignore the rules. I was looking at another forum over visa for Turkey. Someone asked if he would be OK as his current visa expired the day after he returned, of course you are someone said. If anything goes wrong and you overstay then the authorities will turn a blind eye. Can't make it up can you - perhaps the airlines/TOs might like to check before departure that people have insurance - in theory they can do as it is a condition of carriage but they never do - and we all know the results.
