I used "Annie" this year. She is english, and has a room attached to the Jungle hotel, which was only opened last November, next to the new bazaar in between calangute and candolim. She is very good, and had a board outside advertising. I have her phone no. if anyone is interested.

Having read the thread about hairdressers in Thailand, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good ones in Goa? Or any hairdressers at all? And if so, what kind of prices they charge? I've given up on the British ones!

Two possible(and cheaper)solutions are as follows:- Shave your head or wear a hat!!!!
Hope you have a good holiday. Martinez.

There are a few hairdressers in goa, however from what i have read they are not that good, there is another thread here http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=13421&highlight=hairdressers

However there is a wicked barbers by the roundabout on the candolim to calangute road (on the right hand side just before you get to it), will give you a facial shave, head shave, rub down for around 200 rupees (we pay that but you can pay less) ok maybe not for yourself but your hubby/partner will love it.

There are a couple of barbers opposite the Casa Sea Shell restaurant. I have used the one and had no problems at 50 Rupees. They charge tourists upto 200 Rupees and the locals 25 Rupees. I have been a few times and have got them down to 50 Rps. The trouble with barbers they start massaging your head and give you the full works without asking.

Thanks loads for all your help.

The facial shave etc sounds good but seeing as I'm a girl I might give that a miss.

Cheers!

Hi there all you people with the flowing locks!!!
There are 2 British Hairdressers that I know of in Calangute, Annie who used to operate out of Jungle Village.....not sure where she is now tho. And Sarah who runs Moonshine Restaurant near to Osborne Hotel. I've never used either, I have a good chop before I arrive then wear a hat on the "bad hair days"
Hope this is usefull, Goldenflipflop xxxx

Both Annie and Sarah are experienced hairdressers, with 20 years+ experience.

Thanks goldenflipflop, I'll make a note of it! :)

I have used Annie twice. She is very good. But wasn't sure if she would still be at the jungle hotel this year. I have her phone No.
