Hello,
10 years ago in the june of 95, i stayed at the Ano cambos apartments in Faliraki, and it was the best holiday I've ever had, although it was quite a bit outside the resort, everybody used to sit outside the bar till the early hours, and Peter kept the bar open till the last people left. He also did his famous barbecue on a sunday, which to me was one of the many highlights of this fabulous holiday.
Two years ago we went back, and i couldn't believe how much it had changed, it had really gone down hill and the layout was completely different, it wasn't a patch on how it had been, plus the place was more or less empty.
Has anybody else stayed at these apartments, did any body else go there in the summer of 95, and does anybody else agree, that to change these apartments lay out was a disaster?
I was a rep on the island in the mid 90s and Faliraki was a fantastic place for a cheap night out. Unfortunately as it's reputation's built up so have the prices and it's not a cheap place to drink anymore. Add to that the fact that all that negative press caused alot of operators to drop Faliraki and you've got a very different resort to the fun, frantic, party resort that we remember!
Has anyone stayed here or have any information on them?
Any information would be excellent!
Thanks xx
I went to the Ano cambos aptartments in June 1995, and it was the best holiday I've ever had, but things have changed since then,I went back to the same ones two years ago and it had changed beyond belief, in my opinion, it was ruined. The only good thing that remained was that
Peter was still there, also be expected to either use a taxi to get into Faliraki, as it's a good half hour walk from the centre.
Oh no... im worried now! I've heard it quite a walk into the town, but i don't surpose a cab would cost alot? Is there bars n stuff along the walk to the town?
hi, well it depends which way you go, you can turn left out of the apartments towards the Atalanti hotel , then left down the track, which brings you to the outskirts of Faliraki and numerous bars towards the centre, or you can walk down the main road and turn right towards the centre, passing safeway, I'd say turning rith would be the best option.
Ona plus side when i went back in 2003 there was now a swimming pool, but importantly, the area where everybody used to sit out had gone, also when i went , Ano cambos was deserted. I guess it's my own fault because it's said never go back, you'll only be disappointed, and in my case that's true, but you could still have a great time.
Hi if you were a rep in Faliraki in 1995, did you know Michelle who worked for Thomsons, she was our rep for the Ano Cambos at the time, and was very good, what became of her, do you know?
Thanks alot for all the information, im really quite anxious now to get there and find out what its like!
You said there is now a pool there, is this a reasonable size? Also, what are the apartments like? I spose i shouldnt really be too bothered about the place, you only sleep there and if its no good, you know never to return!!
hi, the pool is a reasonable size, yes quite good,
I really hope so!
