Hi, we are off in just less than 3 weeks but had a bit of a thought today. Never having stayed in a hotel we don't know what will be in our rooms. I have searched out a bottle opener (for my case of course) but do we need glasses, cups, kettle? Can we hire a fridge or will there be 1 in our room? Is there anything we need to know, be prior warned about or will be very pleased to find out?
I would appreciate any and all help, this is a step into the unknown for us.
I do not know of any hotel in Costa del Sol that supplies kettles or cups. As tea is also not all that easy to buy, I would suggest that you bring some with you.
a current comment about food would be good, too
can I hire a fridge....anyone?
If you`ve booked through a travel agent they would have access to Thomsons fact file(it`s on the Travel agents booking system) and most info you require will be on there.
Or if you`ve booked through Portland give them a ring someone in the office should have visited.
Good Luck
Good thinking I leave on 2 April but thank you.
Rooms were great
Food was really superb, with exellent waiting service, ie efficient clearing, drinks etc
location...right on the beach...good pool. I will be honest there were a few flies, whilst we lay out there, but pool guy said they are a phenomenom of late season weather, sometimes...clouds, humidity...didn't annoy me too much but partner, spider-hater...got flustered.
Try to get a west facing room higher than second/third floor....higher the better, view-wise.
At that time I could thoroughly recommend. Truly a classy joint.
Sorry about the puns but It deserves or did to be three and a half to four star rating. Good mixture of clients
Michael
Ps...where did you book as I have been trying to get back there?
Regards, M
The weather was with us all but the first few hours. Not too hot with a slight breeze on occasion.
The hotel was superb. We were overlooking the pool, facing out to sea and couldn't have been more pleased. Large room with twin beds and en suite. Surprisingly there was also a sofa & TV. My girls were in the room next door. The pool is set in grass and large but very cold. There was some reserving of beds but no real need as at no point were they all used. There were free mattresses to help yourself to.
The rooms were cleaned every day, including the day I was confined to bed with a hangover! At 6.30 pm reception phoned and asked if the maid could come up. As I was limping down for dinner this was ok with me. Fresh sheets made me feel so much better on my return!
There were a large variety of meals - from salads to salmon. I am very picky eater and was reduced to chips & mayo only twice. The breakfasts were great and the girls loved the chocolate croissants in particular. We could quite happily have only eaten at the hotel but did take in some ok Chinese meals and fabulous baguettes around and about.
I could have hired a fridge from a local company but decided against it. There was no need as everything was reasonably priced so it was not hardship to nip out & buy.
I feel this hotel is not well known to Scots/Brits but if had several senior citizens, mainly from Canada. The Italian school trips were also a joy to watch arriving and screaming with glee at the view from their balconies.
I would return, so there's not much else to say.
Sounds like a good time had by All
Flying out on 21st....booked los patos hotel for four days.
Didn't know Barracuda available thro globespan....kicking myself now...still going over later in year, so I will check out availability later in week.
Thanks for the feedback on hotel.
Great to know there is a maid service for hangover victims...that's got to be a first...quick call Judith Chalmers!
Cheers
Michael
