Fairground?

Hi,
I always go in may and there are dodgems and small kiddies rides, also amusement arcades.
People have told me that in peak season there is a big wheel and other rides there too but i have never seen them myself.

Hi,

Salou used to have a permanent funfair at the end of the promenade and there was a big wheel. I believe this fair was dismantled in about 2001. Maybe Port Aventura killed it.

Shame, it wasn't a particularly thrilling funfair but the atmosphere was really good.

Thanks Mark. last time I went to Salou was June 2001 and the small fairground was at the end of the promenade then, but as you say maybe PA got all the attention

I last went in 1995 and remember the fairground as my daughter was 5 at the time and loved it. We're going back to Salou this yr but as she's 15 now I don't think she'll mind that it's gone. We now have a son who'll be 6 by then but he won't know he's missing anything - especially as we're staying at the hotel Port Aventure so entertainment on tap!!

Last year when we were in Salou there was a park half way down the main street which hosted a mini sort of funfair. Never made it right along the promenade though.

Hi Groovee,
We went to that park last year and there was a mini funfair and stalls there, we went in the factory fortnight last year, so I don't know if its some kind of yearly thing.

Hi Gail

What is the factory fortnight? It was the first week of July and the kids loved it.

That's almost exactly when we'll be going this year, I wonder if it's on again at the same time.

Hi Louise

We actually leave home on Sun 17th in the afternoon, as we're staying at an airport hotel the night before we travel. Had to do this as otherwise it meant travelling in the monday morning rush hour, M25 no less!!. I'll check in daily before then, any info greatly appreciated but don't put yourself out while you're away; enjoy your holiday.

I found a wee internet place which was 1€ for 30 mins so will be checking my mails there as the hotel wanted 3€ for 15 MINS. oops getting help from nmy 2 year old
