Don't know the hotel well but have seen it from the main road - it's fairly central in Kalathos but you're right Kalathos is quiet. Wouldn't worry though as you're only 5 minutes by taxi from Lindos (about 5 euros and even less by local bus). Lindos has a vast choice of bars and restaurants so you can pick as lively or relaxing a venue as you like .
We are going in a party of 7 to the daniel same weeks as yourself! we are meeting friends there. This will be our fifth time. Yes the hotel is a bit remote but the staff are excellent and everybody is very friendly . Most guests are re visitors so that says a lot There is good bar along the road called Yannis well worth a visit! Taxis and buses go straight to Lindos where there a couple of late nite discos. have a look under
holidays uncovered where there some good reviews about the hotel Also from similar ages group to yourselves

let me know if you need any more info

Is kalathos and lindos expensive to eat and drink out?
Apparently there is a beach right next to the daniel hotel, whats that like?
Cheers
E
the beach is about a 10/15min walk stony but v quiet one cafe on beach.
kalatho is cheap to eat in there are a few restaurants in the village and the hotel has theme nights which include food ie pool party
lindos is dearer to eat, there is also a village called Lardos a taxi ride away with bars and some good restaurants

so Lindos is would you say a lot dearer than kalathos or just a tad dearer?
whilst Kalathos is mainly used by locals or guests from the Daniel. beaches in lindos are sand but very hot and busy you would probably need to travel up the island for some quieter ones
how many are going in your group?
lynne
me and my girlfriend and family.
kalathos beach is stony, water is clean but shelves quickly beach isn't used that much but makes a nice change from laying around the pool
have you seen Hotels web site?

Do you use kalathos beach that much when you go? Whats the best beach if not and how far is it? How about the food in the hotel is it pricey and is it nice?
yes we do use the beach when we are there. We found lindos beach too crowded . but friends of ours have driven to other beaches not sure exactly where. Food in hotel very good and a good price they have theme nights which include the food but there are many other restaurants in Kalathos which are also good!
Ummm, is there any bars you recommend when me and my girlfriend and parents can all go together?
we normally go to Yannis bar which is down the road from the Hotel as he used to work in the hotel and the the bar stays open very late!!
There are other bars as well which we have also used when we eat out.
Everyone in the village is very friendly and remembers you from previous years.
where are you flying from?
lynne
.
stansted what about you? Yeah as I don't want nothing to heavy whilst I am with my parents a nice quiet bar where we can have a drink with some light music then on the second week when they go home we can go a bit mad! :-)
Re. How much for a typical meal in Lindos?
Lindos is a much larger resort with a wider choice of restaurants so prices do vary depending on where you choose to eat. An average meal with 2 courses, wine and coffee is around £15 though you can easily find places you'll pay more or less than this if you look around. Good cheaper restaurants in Lindos are Aphroditi and (though the name escapes me) the one up near the Lindos Reception car park. Somewhere you'll pay a bit more but well worth it as a treat are Mavrikos (close to the taxi rank) and Ambrosia (just behind the bank).

you did well to get a stansted flight we could only get Luton this year !
Is that 15 quid each? thats not too bad. It wouldnt bother me to eat kebab's evertynight!!!!! what about drink prices?
So you really like the daniel then?
Whats ST Pauls Bay beach like? is it as busy as Lindos beach? Sand or sand and shingle?
It's a mix of sand and shingle, quite pebbly but as it's quieter with lots of rock pools, etc. it's good for snorkelling.
Oh, and regards Lindos meal prices - yes we do pay about £15 each but it does vary depending on where/what you eat. Wine with a meal is not too bad but drinks around the bars in Lindos are not cheap - spirit with mixer about 5 euros average (though some places are cheaper).
