Someone funnily enough, an Egyptian, just posted something on Trip Advisor to say the Baron was the best hotel in the area.

Hi MaryLou, yes to everything! except dont know about shuttle bus, when we went we stayed in the hotel complex for the whole week, it was brilliant, we didnt see a car for 7 days!
Fab hotel, hugh pool, beautiful fine sand beach on a level with hotel, and great situatio for a beach stroll, North past the Conrad to Ras Ghamila where the lagoon waters are so blue and green and turquoise the sight will blow you away.

how often and when does the shuttle bus start and finish each day thanks
Bus runs many times a day. Can't remember the exact times but frequent enough for most people (probably 9:00am to 11:00pm, every hour in busy times and less so mid-day & early evening). The bus is free except for the late evening runs but at these times it only costs a couple of quid. Bus takes 30 minutes.
Book in advance at the reception early in the morning to be sure of a seat.

Other tips
Check out the prices in the small hotel shop before venturing out. We bought a small statue for about £15 in a down town shop. We haggled a bit for this price and thought we had done well. Back in the hotel we noticed the same item cost £6 in the shop.

Snorkelling - The jetty in front of the hotel gets quite busy and is used by boats loading people up for the glass bottom boat trips. There's another jetty to your right about 200 yards up the beach. Technically this may belong to another hotel as the Baron sun beds end just before the jetty and another hotels beds begin, but we didn't get asked what hotel we were from etc. But - in my opinion the snorkelling is better, the jetty is quieter, plenty of sun beds, but best of all it's quieter because it's well away from the entertainment stage.

The hotel supermarket is hidden away up past the Egyptian restaurant and the parade of shops. you can stock up on bottled water from here.

It,s around 8 miles or so. most hotels have a shuttle bus which takes 20-30 mins depending on the dodgems (sorry traffic)

Lost ,Its the Baron Palms that is All Inclusive.The Baron is BB.

Could anyone please tell me if it is expensive to eat at The Baron Hotels restaurants. Also are the drinks expensive like I have read about at other 5* hotels. And lastly is this hotel suitable for very young couples who are very active and like some night life.

hi micmac, although i was not at the baron ,it is comparable to the conrad where i did stay. The food and drinks are not expensive as all alcohol is local(and strong), but regarding "lots to do" i would"nt think it would suit you as all these resorts centre around the snorkelling and diving...
although Naama Bay is more lively but again only regarding more bars and restaurants.
Have you actually been to the Red Sea before?

I looked in the Baron hotel while I was staying next door at the Conrad.It was very quiet with a piano playing in the lobby.I dont think it is lively enough for a young couple.I would stay in Naama bay area if I were you.

I'm going to the Red Sea in May/June but I was asking about the Baron on behalf of my son and his girlfriend. I'm not sure The Baron hotel or Egypt will have enough to offer my son.......thanks again we will keep searching for something more suitable.

Just got back from a weeks stay here and what a wonderful hotel, everything to us was 1st class, we could not fault a thing.
The shuttle bus now costs you £5 a couple return and the evening meal in the main buffie resturant is £15 plus drinks, service and food just great.
The general manager comes round most days to check over the whole hotel and will talk to every guest to make sure you are happy with every thing.
This place is truely a place to relax and be pampered if you like, also there is a diving school there, Sinia Dive Club, http://www.dive-club.com I had 2 magnificent dives just of the Baron jetty, my thanks to Annette, a very experienced instructor who lead us round.
Exchange rate was 10.22 to £

Going to the Baron Hotel, Sharm on Thursday 20th April. Does anyone know if there are kettles provided in the room, or do we need to take our own? Any other tips would also be very useful. Thanks.

Can you walk to any nearby eating places just to have a change from the Hotel. We are taking our 8 year old granddaughter who will walk some distance but obviously not miles and we have heard you take your life in your hands going via taxi. Any info would be greatly appreciated - thanks
