Hi,I would guess the reason you are not being charged any under occupancy supplements is because most rooms are based on a minimum of 2 adults sharing and your party would consist of 4 adults (both the 16 year olds would be classed as adults)therefore when you ask for two rooms there would be the minimum amount of adults in each.Im not a 100% sure if this right but whenever we have booked a holiday (our family consists of myself,my husband ,my dad and two children 15 and 9) we always have two rooms and have never paid any supplements.Im sure other HT members will be able to confirm if this is the reason.
If it's self catering I'd check thatthers no underoocupancy added anywhere!
This occupancy supplement really annoys me..................I have private apartments.
Now my 2 beds can sleep up to six adults, but its the same price if there is one person, or six people!! is there really any point in charging extra per person. It costs just a tiny amount in extra water and electricity, and then it means that there may be a little bit extra bedding and towels..........................but the machine has gotta go on anyway!!!
I think you'v missed the fact that Carol says she is booking 2 apartments not a 2 bedded apartment (am i right Carol) in which case it sounds an absolute bargain. But i would want to get my facts straight before i went out there.
Thanks for your replies everyone! Nicole, yes you had it right, I was talking about 2 x 2 bedroom apartments. Have now booked it and had confirmation. Really good deal, I think! Going to Green Apartments in Side, Turkey, for 1 week from 10th July. 2 adults, 2 x 16 year olds and 1 9 year old. Total cost, including meals on plane and transfers - £1043.90. Feeling quite happy with myself, and trying to talk myself out of checking everyday to see if the price has gone down!! Best wishes, Carol.
Carol, now that you have booked, who did you book through ??
I booked online with First Choice. Think this is a really good price. Going to Green Apartments in Side on 10.07.05 for 1 week. Can't find it in the First Choice brochure though. Found a few sites that give it really good reviews; 1 not so good review on Holidays Uncovered, but we will make our mind up once we are there!
Best wishes
Carol.
