we went away last weekend for a one night stay in Dublin, when we arrived to check in the manager said they had double booked us and were moving us to another hotel.
They said the new hotel is a five star and they would pay for taxi's etc to and from where ever we want to go during our stay.
we found out that Neil Diamond was on that night and they had probably re-sold our rooms for fans at triple the price, their excuse was they had a problem with the computers the day before and had to put the booking back on manually and 'sorry we left your booking off'.
even though we had a lovely time in this 5* hotel 22 miles out of Dublin city center.

We booked back in Feburary at a cheap price, and the taxi drivers we spoke to all said the same, that hotels do this all the time. but why only for them to make more money surely??

By the time they had our bill from the taxi's we had the three meals and drinks we drank we must of cost them a fortune!! and thre was 8 of us!!
I only spent 35 euros, didnt buy one meal, we had all the drinks paid for while we were waiting at the hotel to go to the other one 6 rounds of vodka and coke times 8

we wernt the only ones being moved there were at least 10 other people we saw looking unhappy walking out, but we were the only ones moved to the 5* hotel one girl came back and complained the other hotel she had been sent to was disgusting.
So be warned if your thinking of booking the Temple Bar hotel in Temple bar itself be prepared to be double booked, check to see if there is a gig on first.
The manager on duty was honest when she said she would be glad to see the back of us
