Phil
You do brighten up the day but why did you bring back the rain with you?
Mint tea is quite pleasant. I sampled it on the trip I took in Tunis.
I received a brochure from Reader Offers which praised MSC and devoted a whole page to it.
For those of you who are lone cruisers from HT.
I was the only one from HT. Most of us who were on our own had originally met up with other DE cruiser at the airport. There were a group of British (plus two South Africans) who met up at various times - not all on our own - and some had paid full fare. One couple who had paid full fare said, "Why don't we all go again?" Ages varied as well from about late thirties to eighty two.
Must go to get my cousin's grandson from school and take him for tea in Sainsbury's or some place and then I have to starve until to-morrow for a blood test. I just hope all that 6 euro wine has lowered my cholesterol. We have to go to a clinic at the local mental hospital for blood tests. At least it is not the surgery as the doctor would have something to say about my sun tan as I am very brown from the cruise.

Maureen,
you'll probably find its full of DE cruise hopefuls
Your waiter and mine must have been related, we seemed to get wine most nights at the table, and l dont mean a glass either!!! Busters table must have been specially strengthened to cope with the weight of all their bottles, nobody asked how and Nello was to polite ever say where it came from, l think with his tips he bought a pad in St tropez!!!!
It's a good number of years since my behaviour shocked anyone.
I have another sin to admit - occasionally I would eat a piece of plain dark chocolate at the same time!!
How shocking is that ASBO next, I should think!!
I will plead guilty in court, but in my defence I will submit the evidence that I drank 3 beers in one day (oooh! : ) , participated fully in the Gala Evening - several free champagnes and martinis and I kept an ever-decreasing bottle of Campari in my cabin.
I am sorry if my behaviour has upset you and I promise to fall in line in the future..........
Alli

Alli,
you certainly know how to push the boat out (pun intended) when you go on holiday

Rosie

Did I say it was the same bottle?????
you certainly know how to push the boat out
Don't forget this was a £10 cruise!!

I just hope all that 6 euro wine has lowered my cholesterol.
Probably not Maureen, but at least it will make for easy starting in the winter!!
Rosie,
Re: The late tickets, you should be OK so long as your on `the system` then they will find you. Did you get a reference number or anything on the `phone like you do with airline e-tickets?
Rosie
bit nippy around the trusics this evening - had to close down the hatches, well the Balcony windows and plug in the sun lamp.
Did I say it was the same bottle????? allisu you are wicked, but we like you :glynis :glynis
Byeeee for now

To put something into quotes is easy. I just copy and paste the text, then highlight it and click Quote above the box where the post is typed. You post a link to a website in a similar way. Highlight the link and press URL.How do you do that quote thing in highlited white,
Have been meaning to ask for a while now,did anyone request Reception, on the Premier Deck to post their cards ?
I believe it was Ayesha who suggested this service, being that 'your card' reaches home quickly!!!
Oh dear! No way, cos' in spite of the extra fee they chge my Friends / Family are still waiting for their postcards.
I recall that several years ago when travelling around Sorrento / Naples Region I posted many cards home and they took approx 6days.
Allisu was right.
Regards to all....Tony
So you have already booked your next cruise with Cunard
BUT...
1...... Can you be sure of bottles of wine appearing on the table every night.?
2..... Will you have a great waiter with the charisma of Nello?
3......The opportunity of secreting 'memorabilia' in that incredible suitcase of yours?
4......Or perhaps meeting someone someone who continually insists on referring to cruiseliners as 'boats'..No only joking about that one......which reminds me, Has anyone heard from Ian ( AtWales)?.
Cheers mate.
Tony
Allisu was right
I always am
I saw someone give Reception cards to post after we left Naples. The cards had Italian stamps and they said they would post them next time they were in Italy - presumably Genoa, at end of cruise.
I couldn't believe all the postcards posted Tuesday pm in Naples (just a small box in a wall - looked as if it wouldn't be emptied!) arrived Thurday am.
Would suggest you do this if you really want them to arrive before you do!
Isn't it quiet around here without Magsy? I hope she is having a great time. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it.
Surprised how your cards havent arrived yet, l posted a few at reception onboard at 1 euro each and they all arrived home, no stamps were on them, just the datestamp.
As for your other questions...well......
can l be sure of wine appearing at the table every night..... Yes l can !!! reliably informed l have a good table in the crew mess
Will l have a waiter with the chaisma of Nello? .....hmmm he will be a hard act to follow, but l know of a few who come a very close second
As for secreting "memorabilia" in my suitcase ...... joining from Southampton the luggage wont be problem so l can pack with gay abandon and might even have room for my black encrusted diamonte top
and with that memorable quote from the brochure "unlimited luggage" so lm sure l will manage a few souvenirs
As for meeting people that refer to ships as boats this is where it gets complicated not only is she a ship... but also the worlds best loved ocean liner, the fact that one of my cruises is for 3 weeks will lm sure give me time to sort these people out, though next year is a long time away.
cheers
I did not send any Post Cards - rarely do!
Does Wallican (Chris) still post? Only four weeks until the QE2 sails. I shall look forward to meeting you and your wife as I did not meet anyone else from HT. No free wine at table there but I usually get a free bottle of sparkling white in my cabin and share it with the table. Perhaps if we mention Myles .... you never know!
Maureen H.
In a few hours I will be trekking down to Stanstead for that flight tomorrow morning. Cant wait. Nearly packed but keep finding something else. Just a question, did anyone out there go with Ryanair and are they really particular about case weights. I have read on my ticket that you can only take 15 kg. What do they charge you if you are over. Also I notice they say in the brochure no irons allowed. Did anyone take one and kept it out the way.
Silly questions I know but these things matter to a woman.
Thanks for your replies a.s.a.p. I will be off shortly.
