if your tickets dont arrive I imagine they would arrange to issue them for you when you get to the airport. Thats what would usually happen if they didnt get the tickets to you in time !

My mum and dad are due to fly with Freedom Flights next week. They, also have not received their tickets. My parents telephoned the company they booked the flights through and they said they's had no tickets from Freedom Flights for 3 weeks because their was a strike at their postal office. My parents rang that post office branch who said that there was no strike.

Something is not good here.

We travel next Thursday and only got our tickets Tuesday gone. Never in my travelling days have I been on tenderhooks waiting for tickets to arrive. I have always got my tickets 3 weeks before or so.

Here's hoping everyone receives theirs.

I will probably not book with Excel again their customer services have been diabolical and Freedom Flights their sister company who operate Excel flights are no better. Have tried to contact both regarding my pre-booked seats which I booked at the beginning of May to be told there is a backlog. Still waiting to this day.

Last summer we got our tickets 8 days before departure.

I took a bit of comfort (perhaps wrongly) that Freedom Flights were part of the major Excel Airways Group plc.

Also, when i spoke to CheapestFlights who had arranged them for me about non-delivery they assured me, at that time, this was the normal length of time for Freedom's tickets to be posted out. That didn't cheer me up at all. Like others on here I prefer to have them at least 3 weeks before departure.

When they did arrive it was in two seperate envelopes. They'd issued them in duplicate for everyone. I wasn't caring by that time because at least we had the damn things.

We flew out tot Kos on 4 June - tickets never arrived because "x thousand were lost by the post office" - Excel were very helpful once I'd e-mailed, faxed and (attempted) to phone them. Our tickets were waiting for us at the airport (we'd booked in November last year!0 - but I did turm up expecting a fight!

I've booked with Hellenic Voyages who tell me my flight is with Freedom Flights. My tickets havent arrived after telling me for the last two weeks they were in post. Now I have been told to collect them from Aero Connect desk at airport. Is this what happend to you and did it work out ok, I'm used to getting tickets before I go, I fly out Tues 5/7/05.

What was the air line like? I booked meals are they ok? Are they on time?

Freedom Flights..ExelAir..Air Scandic.. all seem to wear the same clothes...something not quite right here... :?

Our flight was with Air Malta through Excel - no problem with picking up tickets from the Aero Connect desk...I went in full battle mode, but didn't need it....

Times were great - landed ealier than scheduled on outbound and in.

Meals...hmmm - we hadn't booked any, others had - on the way out the cabin staff announced that as they were a budget airline they didn't provide meals - sold a selection of sarnies - and for anyone who had booked meals to take it up with their operator. On the way back...anyone who wanted one got a breakfast....including us :?

After reading quite a few reviews regarding Freedom flights getting very worried now.
We are due to fly out to Dalaman shortly. Have read stories, no tickets received, flights cancelled and flight delays by up to 18 hours.
I have three girls so am getting concerned that tickets have not arrived yet.

Have many other people had problems with Freedom flights/air Scandic???

I am due to leave Glasgow to Tenerife at 7am this friday, 8th july and still not recieved tickets. I booked through A1 travel, who are a nightmare to get through to on the phone and was told my tickets would be sent 1st class monday, as this is now wednesday I am starting to panick. Telephoned again this morning and STILL waiting for them to call back.

Is anyone else having trouble with tickets for this flight............XLA850V. I know this is probably the flight company's fault but A1 travel have been no help at all, the only department I can get through to is reservations who are telling me the phone lines are down (was also told this on monday). Any advice please?

Just returned back from holiday using Excel.

We originally prebooked seats together 3 months ago and after being reassured the invoice was in the post we arrived back yesterday and the invoice had been sent to us whilst we were on holiday. I was then amazed to read they had not pre booked our seats but had charged us £64 for extra legroom which we did not request and certainly did not receive. I thought that I would never had to deal with that company again but I know I will have to spend at least another 2 hours on the phone holding so I can get a refund for the £40 difference. I now suspect that they don't send the confirmation out to you until you are on holiday and if it is incorrect you can't be bothered trying to ring them back.

I will never fly with them again.

Although flights were on time I felt we were hoarded in like cattle and the seat pitch was questionable.

We are flying from Stansted to Dalaman on 18th July. I booked my tickets with P.A. Travel Ltd, who in turn booked them through Freedom Flights. I received a letter on 25th June saying the following :-

The operator responsible for issuing your tickets is currently experiencing problems in getting the tickets to our offices. They are using a new courier service which is proving less reliable than Royal Mail. It may well be that this situation is rectified soon and we can get the tickets to you within the next couple of weeks.

However, if their problems are not resolved as we get nearer to your date of departure, we will, as a security measure, be arranging for your tickets to be available for you to collect at the airport. This will mean that you should arrive in plenty of time to collect them.

There is nothing to worry about and we will keep you informed.


There are 11 of us travelling and its a nightmare. I like to have my ticket in my hand! We have paid for them and I feel this is not right.

Anyone else received their tickets who were told they may not arrive in time?

jennt, we have also booked our flights with PA Travel, to go to Dalaman on 15 August from Manchester. Have not had any correspondence yet.

We are really worried,we booked our flights for Dalaman in going in October,last November and only got our confirmation in June after numerous e/mails phone calls and letters sent by recorded delivery.Noww have to worry about getting our tickets !!! On another post I read that Freedom Flights have not renewed their Abta Bond,its very worrying.I will not be using them again.

I have just rung PA Travel AGAIN and they advise me that my tickets will be available at the Aero Connect Desk at Stansted Airport. I am not happy with this, but what else can I do?

Have emailed Freedomflights today on two seperate occasions.
Have not had a reply to either of my emails.
On there web site they say tickets will be sent out 3 weeks prior to departure.
Still waiting for a reply and tickets :yikes

Janey when are you flying.

We did not receive our tickets until 8 days before. We booked through a third party website who said that they always have the same problems with Excel and Freedom Flights leaving everything to the last minute.

Hope you get your tickets.

Don't bother emailing. They never reply and you are kept on hold for sometimes over an hour.

I was kept holding for over an hour to enquire about my tickets. After the hour they cut me off. Great.

We actually fly 1st August.

Have heard so many problems with them, thought I would start now to contact them.

I came back from Crete yesterday. We booked with Hellenic Voyages, and was told flight co was Freedom Flight which turned out to be Viking Flights??!! Our tickets never arrived we were told 4 days before we went to collect them from Aero Connect desk, I was really concerned but it all turned out well there was no hassle just gave them ref no and they handed them over with luggage labels, all that worry for nothing :roll:

I do think Freedom Flights should sort their act out, they will lose alot of custom the way they are going. You spend all that hard earned money for your holiday you dont want all this hassle and worry before you go. If they arent going to issue tickets they should be up front with you and tell you from start tickets will be at the airport like e-ticket the budget flight companies do.
