Rhodes Town is great - especially when its quietened down in October. Beautiful old town loads of restaurants and bars in old and new towns and escape to other islands if you feel like it! We're back to Rhodes this October - hope the weather's as good as it has been before!

Hi. Lesvos would be my choice for traditional Greece and decent weather in October. If you stay in Petra where there are loads of good tavernas you can easily get a taxi to Molyvos for a few euros where there are lots of cobbled streets up to the castle and bars/tavernas by the waterside. I think there is an earlier thread on Lesvos. We went to Skiathos last year and while we enjoyed it, I would not have any desire to return. Quite 'cosmoplitan' and not much else other than 13? beaches. Gail

Fabulous place with something to suit most peopel although not the clubs that young people want!
We hired a car and just drove round the island one day discovering things as we went...
Skala Errosou (birth place of the poet Sappho) was lovely. There is also an amazing petrified forest and lots of thermal baths ( so good for you). It's relatively unspolit compared to many Greek islands too.
