We went with PHI and they put us in touch with Medsea Estates. Our apartment should be ready in January 2006 and so far Medsea have been excellent.
We too went with PHI and Medsea, in fact I was so impressed with Medsea I have started a topic board on this website prasing them, not something you expext to do about estate agents (beleive I know, I am one!!!)
they come under some criticism on the viva almeria web site. apparently take deposits for developments that don't have a building licence etc.
I thought it was too good to be true! I can only speak from my own experience and from what I have heard from others regarding their agents. Medsea provided a real 'Idiots guide to buying in Spain' they did everything from opening a bank account to providing a solicitor, oening an account with a foreign money exchange, taking us to get our NIE numbers , sorting out the snagging, and cleaning the apartment after completion, they replied to every email I sent them within 24 hours as did the solicitors . We are delighted with our purchase, but of course I understand things do not always go smoothly, Medsea are quite a large company who have been trading in Spain for some years, I guess they will have hacked off a few people over the years!
I would agree with you Suebf. We haven't completed yet but so far Medsea have been very efficient with us and done everything you said they did for you. They always reply to our emails and the solicitors do too. Perhaps people's expectations vary and I was surprised to read about Medsea. Could it be that it is a localised problem - may be Medsea in Almeria is different from the Medsea in Torrevieja.
