Hello everybody,
First of all, this is a great forum to get your holiday information, even for a dutch lad like me.
I am going to Albufeira in one and a half week, and I am looking forward to it.
But what is the Dom Pancho resort like, is it any good? there seem to be no really usefull inf. on the dutch internetpages.
and also, can anybody post some pictures of the Strip I am curious how it looks.
And how is the mixture of nationalities in Albufeira, is it like 60% British.
Thanks in advance
Michael
we stayed in the dom pancho appartments for a week in october 2002 they were clean and well kept.
it was the first time we had taken our daughter away since her birth and the staff were very helpfull and even gave us a room free of charge on our departure day to allow us not only to feed and change her, but also to let her sleep until the coach arrived.
the strip is only a short walk away, there is a main street about 50m from the front of the accomodation, cross that and walk a further 600m or so and you will arrive at the strip. sorry no pictutres i'm affraid.
my own personal opinion is that the strip is more or less wholly british orientated, however if you like walking the old town is a little further away, but a pleasant walk if the sun isn't to warm, either along the beach (if the tides out) or along the headland road. failing that jump in a taxi you'll be there in minutes.
plenty of bars and restaurants on the strip, but we prefered the old town for meals. theres also a good dutch bar in town called rickys, enjoyed sinking a few amstel in there!
enjoy yourself
Terry
I think i'll have a good time in albufeira especially on the strip.
the english are friendly people so I think i'll get along
but more inf. is welcome
Greetings Michael
hi going to these apartments in a couple of weeks, reviews dont sound too great. can anyone give me some information on these apartments. thanks
Hi Fid, I have never stayed at these apartments but hubby has, sed they are basic but clean & central for the nightlife of the strip/Santa Eulalia so the area is ok,where u are staying at the Dom Pancho there is a little Dutch restaurant/bar, turn right when you come out of complex on same side of road and its just 15 metres away called BOM APPETITE Weibe & Marianne will welcome you. The breakfast is only from 1euro 50 cents and is excellent try it, and they do snacks and a lovely menu for night time also. The beer San Miguel is only 1 euro a pint, Try it. cheers jayjan
