Staying at Arbes-Mepro which is located near Arbes Square in the centre of Prague, just below Petrin hill and Prague Castle and on the left bank of the Vltava River, a short stroll to Charles Bridge or to The National Theatre about 12 mins according to hotel info, supposed to be a quieter area of Prague booked it through http://www.czechclick.com it was on special offer of 52 euros per night for a double room and is a 3 star hotel.

hi, I've booked flights to Prague at the end of Oct and am now looking for a good hotel. I want to stay within walking distance of all main attractions and have got a provisional booking at the Hilton for £200 for 2 nights. I thought this seems good value. Has anyone stayed here? Is it a good place to stay?
Hilton is within walking distance, situated on the banks of the Vlatva but a good 10-20min walk towards the old town square.
Does anyone have any tips?
Watch out for the pickpockets, especially in Wenseslas Square, try any of the restaurants that the locals use, usually cheap meals not goumet but good and filling.
Any opinions on the Central Hotel and the K+K Hotel Central?
I have read tripadvisor and they seem pretty good just wondered if anyone else had stayed at either of them?
Thanks
Andy
We stayed in the KK Hotel in Prague, lovely hotel, the street it is on not very nice but we had no problems, right next to the square.
Was there in the month of July so not sure about weather in February.
Loved Prague

We were there in Feb 2004 and enjoyed it thoroughly and revisit shortly!! Feb then was cold but not unbearable, about freezing or just over during the day and a little below at night. Flurries of snow made it so lovely and magical especially around the Castle and Old Town Sq but especially the Jewish Quarter. We thawed out with Hot Grog and Mulled Wine so it was not unpleasant at all!!! We were in Paris last Feb and it was much much colder, by day and by night down to about -8 or so. You will enjoy it no matter the weather I think!
Febuary is an the best time to go if you do not mind the cold but things tend to be a little more relaxed and quiet! Its like something out of your dreams, a fairytale wonderland. The snow just seems to top this fantastic place off! Breathtaking! Just wrap up warm!
Thanks for all your replies.
Prague Castle is open all year round, as are most of the tourist attractions. Be warned that some places close on Mondays throughout the year.
depends what you want in food, but there are plenty of restaurants/cafes all over, plus in the old town square are some lovely cafes with picture boards of the meals available with english language descriptions, or just do as i do and watch what others are eating in various places.
I must agree it is a fantastic city, so much to see and do.
Will everything be open on a weekend (sat\sun) e.g sights, castle, museums etc?
