Thankyou for the replys, still got more questions but having only been using a computer for a few weeks I am a bit slow.I have heard that it is expensive in cyprus and we are going self-catering are ther any supermarkets locally and what cant you get out there as my husband is a typical british man and likes his meat and potatoes!!!!!!
Yes there are some great supermarkets in which you
can get nearly everything you can here.
I don't really know Protaras, but in Limassol and Paphos I use Orphanides and I'm sure there will be one there. They have a fantastic selection of food. I have to say that the beef in Cyprus is the best I have seen and bought anywhere, including here. Eating self catering is easy because they have all you'll need. That includes any supermarket by the way.
Potatos are no probs, I'm sure you must buy Cyprus poatoes here, well you'll also get them there
Honestly you'll have no probs feeding him, I know because I've got one the same........a beef and potato man
Mince.....yes you get that too and bacon and sausages
Go and enjoy!!!

Hi! Protaras is an ideal resort to take children. To be honest though, i will be very suprised if you decide to cook yourself. There are so many restaurants to choose from, aswell as "bar meals" in some bars. There is even a McDonalds if your daughter likes them! Mythology Funfair is great for kids. It is opposite the Andreotis apts. I wouls say it was more suitable for younger children though. There is a bigger crazy golf site located behind the "strip", just as you go onto it. We are a family of 4, and it took around half an hour to go round it, but we had a good laugh! We have visited Protaras twice before, 1st at the Marlita Beach (excellent!) then at Maouris apts (not as good, but great location). There are 10 of us going back next year, to the Andreotis apts. Im sure wherever you are staying, you and your familly will love it!!!
Nobody is any fussier than my husband,
The Green bay apt are quite away from Orphanides in Paralimni, the bus does run past the apts and stops outside the supermarket.
it has an Iceland section and you can even get frozen Yorkshire puds,
You could hire a car drive up and stock up for your stay... I don't think you will have a problem eating out , Plenty of British meals available in places to eat.
The S/C cooking facilities in your apt may be limited so it will probably be easier to eat out if this is the case, but you can easy get bacon and sausages for your breakfast .

Alva Studio Apt s do have air conditioning, I went to say hello to the staff in there. Nice people
The Kebab place I would recommend to every one is run by a lovely family (Santorini Gardens ) I did quiet a lot this year more then usual Im usually pretty lazy on my holidays hehe not this time.
I went to Eden Square often , george the singer is great , good personality and enjoyable , whenever hes on the the blue island dancers come on dancing (greek) I got pulled up 3 times lucky me hehe I had a ball. For a nice relaxing ice cream or drink I recommend Parko just next to Alva Apts . To see a crazy cypriot breaking plates on his head , which hes been doing for quiet a few yeard go to Romeo,s food is good and staff are pleasant . This year I took a 1day trip to Eypyt I would recommend it highly but it s a long day so not if you have small children
They offered my husband 2500 camels for me lol thats not bad lol
I went to Ayia Napa waterpark as usual I had a good day out , after that went next door with my hubby to go on the Go Karts A MUST it was great buy the tickets before you leave the Waterpark a little cheaper and if they are busy you can come back a different day and use the ticket no probs there. I ve really had a great holiday I ve lived in Cyprus 4 Yrs and have been going back every year for the passed 5 yrs but for some reasons this was a great holiday . Keep in touch all let me know how your holidays was.
All the Best Happyhel
I'm going to Protaras on 20th September and was after personal opinion on what the temps are like then and also is everything (ie bars, restuarants) is still open then?
Cheers in advance
Kez
last year we went to cyprus the beginning of october, and it was still hot, a little cooler in the evenings, just needed a cardi, but everything was still open, have a lovely time.
Great time to go. Its the latter end of October before things start to close down
Hi kezz. Protaras starts to "shut down" mid to end of October. so i would imagine everything will still be open as usual in September. Some apts and bars are even starting to stay open longer now in the winter period-the owner of a bar told us last year in Penera.
I noticed on the link I posted for the Yianna Maria it stated open all the year round.

Pink Lady, i decided, had to go Looking through the avators, i felt so sorry for this little fella-nobody else has chosen him!
At least he has a place with me now though. I will look after him!
Is it best to arrange car hire before we leave or when we get there? (Any recommendations??)
Has anyone ever been on a deep sea fishing excursions and roughly how much does it cost?
Can you flush loo roll down the toilet or are bins provided?
i know one of the answers, you cant flush the loo toll, they will provide bins for the paper.
ooh Chris - I thought we were allowed to flush when we were in Pernera......I must be remembering wrongly....
We were in Penera last year, and definately could flush the paper down the loos. As for car hire, we always wait until we get into resort. That way you can "haggle" over the price, and get to see the car or jeep before you rent it. Yoy will Pernera!!
really you can flush? blimey i assumed it was everywhere in cyprus that you couldnt flush, well you learn something new everyday
if you dont want to wipe and bin just lie in the sun and air dry
