I am staying at the Guadalupe next week, so will do a review when I get back.

I choose the Guadalupe as it mainly seemed to get good reviews.
Here are the Holiday Truth reviews for both hotels:

You'll also find reviews on:

Hope that helps

I did some research on this and some other sites before I booked and couldn't see a difference to be honest.I opted for the MP as I managed to get a really cheap bargain working out £200 cheaper than the Guadalupe .
I'm going in 7 weeks so I can let u know what it's like when I get back

Guadalupe has aircon and ceiling fans and are adequate for the rooms. Guadalupe have a quick turnover of guests and this year seem to have lots of groups of single sex people either on stag/hen/golf trips. Have gone to the Guadalupe several times, but my trip in May was marred by these groups who have absolutly no regard for other guests. As one group left for home , several other groups descended on the hotel It was constant. Would have to give serious thought about going back because of this, which is a shame as the hotel itself is good.

Hi there, We have been to the Magaluf park twice and it had only got ceiling fans in the rooms . The hotel its self is quite good and in a good position , handy for all the nightlife but not too close.
We have also visited a couple of hotels up in the north of the island where they dont even bother to install ceiling fans and make money by hiring little desk fans to you for about twenty quid a week.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Goingplacesgirl and Tangobunny will wait for your reports to see what you both think of the hotels you are staying in. I dont really want lots of people on their stag/hen partys dont mind them having a good time but i do like my sleep. If the ceiling fans do their job i dont mind. I would be interested to know if the food is o.k. in both hotels. I just cannot decide where to go next year every hotel i seem to pick has mixed reviews, so if anyone has a hotel that they would recommend anywhere in Spain please let me know just dont want anything too far away from the airport.

Having been to both I would choose the Guadalupe as it has a more upmarket feel about it. It could easily be a 4star.

The M.Park is also good but the rooms we were in are smaller than the Guadalupe plus it only had a ceiling fan.

Just returned from the Sol Guadalupe.

Safe hire is 15E per week (traditional key style).
Fridge hire is 30E per week.

Good points:
Room size, cleanliness and decor was very good. I would say equivilent to some 4* hotels I have stayed in. The air conditioning was fab, with both an air con unit and a ceiling fan. Got the room nice and cold.
Internet use available downstairs for 2E for 30 minutes, 3E for an hour.
Hotel near to the waterparks, took us about 10 mins to get there when we walked.
A good selection of food, but did get repetitive. I was glad I was not there for a fortnight.

Bad points:
We asked to be charged in Euros for our stay and confirmed this several times, but were charged in £s. This meant that the rate they used was loaded by 3%.
Bar staff were miserable.
Noise! I've never stayed in a hotel with such thin walls. We had to keep the air con unit on every night to try and drown out some of the noise of people walking past our door, and also put blankets around the door.
Maid service did not clean our bath during our entire week long stay. As you stand up to shower inside the bath, you can imagine the colour of it by the end of the week.
I've never stayed in a hotel where they demand payment of drinks as soon as they put them on your table (during the evening meal). Found this quite strange on our first night.
Entertainment was shockingly bad.
Lifts were very erratic.
Pool area is very small for the size of the hotel. We didn't spend a minute around the pool due to all the sun beds being taken by the time we got down there, and also due to how crammed in the beds were. Very claustrophobic.
The fact it's in Magaluf. We visited in 2002, and I can honestly say the resort has gone majorly downhill. It's very dirty, although you see the council out in the morning trying to clear up the vomit, food, broken bottles etc from the pavements, it's still filthy. I felt that it was also expensive and there is no incentive for them to provide decent food to eat anymore, as it seems it's all drunken 17 year olds eating it anyway. Anything that I ate in Magaluf outside of my hotel was of a poor quality.
The immaturity of most of the visitors. I was awoken at 2.10am by somebody doing a tap dance in the corridor. Who then ran, slamming their feet down, down the length of the corridor. Obviously trying to disturb as many guests as possible.
The noise the cleaners make in the morning! Don't expect a long lie!!

Thanks GoingPlacesGirl for letting me know, we had picked this hotel over the Magalluf Park. Glad i didnt book, looks like i will be having a rethink where we will be going next year. Am at a loss to where we will be going, but it wont be the Guadalupe.
