Here's a 10 day forecast for Burgas but you can change the region to your particular destination.

what is the weather like in june?

We have flown to Bularia in the last week of June for the past two years, in 2004 it was very hot with the odd evening/night thunderstorm - this year it was cooler, again with the odd thunderstorm.

Just returned from Sliven yesterday, about four hours drive from Sofia.

I'm very surprised about the lack of coverage about the flooding that has affected the area round Sofia. Red Cross has launched an emergency appeal to face the problems Before leaving our group donated our spare clean clothes and levs to help the people affected. The main rail line also had been affected ( damage 235 million leva) although we understand that areas round Varna and Sunny Beach remain totally unaffected.

The Sofia Echo ( Aug 12-18) reported ten deaths and damage to value of a billion leva with
- I'm not going to moan about rain in Manchester ever again.

I was there for 2 weeks,(sunny beach)just home yesterday ... rained on the 2nd day there for about 10 mins, really heavy ..... dried up and baking sun again after that. On saturday 20th aug, it rained for about an hour, flooded the streets. The sun didnt come out the rest of that day, but it was still warm, just no sunbathing. Paddled through the streets & got shopping done though! Far toooooo warm to browse the stalls & shops when the suns out.

Apart from that rain, it was roasting the rest of the 2 weeks :sun

Loved it, booking to go back next year 8)

Hi

We were there same time as Trish. Came back on Monday. For the majority of the fortnight it was boiling hot for the majority of the day- definitely need loads of sun protection. Having said that I am a sun worshipper and it wasn't my ideal holiday weather. Apart from the rain on Sat that Trish mentioned, we also had a thunderstorm and it was quite overcast in the mornings on about 4-5 days out of the fortnight, with the sun usually appearing by around mid-day. The skies were by no means cloudless but sometimes the occasional cloud brought relief from the heat for those who don't like it too hot.

One more opinion on the weather- 50% of the time the evenings weren't warm enough for strappy tops and dresses but that's just my opinion. Most people said that the weather we experienced is typical Bulgarian. I know we've got no control over the weather, but if that was typical I won't be back.

 I'm a a bit worried about the weather now, all I want is a sunny holiday. Got all my strappy sun tops and summer skirts ready to pack.

Hi shirley, nursey,

I only brought strappy tops too, and they were fine. I can't remember a night when it was too cold to wear them. The odd clouds, when they were there, were a relief for me, as it really was boiling.

Hope you have a great hol nursey

Trish :)

Hi Nursey, Trish,

It depends on what sort of weather you're used to. We normaly go to Greece in August and the evenings are really warm. I found the evening temps in Bulgaria didn't live up to this. This is not to say that it was cold there. I'm sure you'll be fine, most evenings were warmish with just a few sporting a cool breeze.

Have a great time Nursey.

Been in Obzor since Friday and the weather has been very hot. In the evening cooler but you still could go out with a short sleeve top and be ok. :D

Hi everyone :)
I am going to Sunny Beach on 19th Sept........can't wait!! Never been to Bulgaria before. Just wondering if I may need a light jacket for evening. Does anyone know if it will be a little chilly in the evening? I am hoping it will be hot during the day as I am a sun worshiper and I lurv the sun! :sun Thanks for any info you can give me. Cheers. Dizz xx

You'd probably be safer taking a light jacket or cardie in September. Some of us thought it was a little cool some of the time in August! Better to be safe than sorry.
