Seriously, we had a fantastic time and I would highly recommend the excursions by Lutons Travel and Last Minute Travel - they use the same coaches and you will find their leaflets tucked under rocks around the resort. We booked our trips with an agent in Costa Teguise, but you can always ask your hotel reception to phone Lutons/Last Minute and book for you, or ask them where to find an agent in Playa Blanca.
Our coaches were more or less on time (it's not their fault if they have customers faffing around at the previous bus stops). We went on the Fuerteventura trip (not the "dump you in Corralejo/dunes" trip, but the one where they take you around the old villages on the island) very interesting and Miguel the guide was brilliant, spoke clear fluent English and could answer any questions without any problems. We also went on the Cesar Manrique trip which was a fascinating look at the artist's work in the North of Lanzarote.
We also booked 2 trips with our MyTravel/Airtours rep at the hotel and they weren't anything like as good as the Lutons/Last Minute excursions, and they were quite expensive too!
Anyway, hope you have a great holiday. The weather will still be good when you get there - it's good all year round!
Which is the biggest supermarket in PB?. Does it have its own carpark and what is it opening times? Thanks in advance. 1st time to PB.
Sorry but I don't think there are any public car parks in PB-certainly don't know of any. But if you have a car and want a good supermarket why not head back to the airport and go in Vivo's? It is a huge place and got everything you can think of including lovely fresh meat and fish counters.
There is a car park by the port we always park there. I don't no about supermakets never stayed there only had day visits.
The 2 main supermarkets, Netto and Marcial, are in the town centre and don't have their own car parks. But you should be able to park reasonably close.
Thanks all, what is parking like around/by the new marina???.
No problem.
They booked it and I now realise that it is not Party central.
Anyone know of any cool bars, for people in their mid twenties.
or golf courses other entertainment ??? Please help !!
You don't get much cooler than Cafe Del Mar for chilled out music and cocktails at Marina Rubicon. For a total craic you should try Irish Anvil at Punto Limones, I would have normally suggested Legends bar but its closed boo hoo. Don't worry, Playa Blanca is party central when you know where to go and you'll soon find out! Oh, also suggest
Just noticed you are a Gemini which is my sign and you are a year younger than me (27th may 77 for me) so I think you may find we have the same tastes party wise and this should make my recommendations ideal for you!
So what is the average cost of meals ? Drinks ? Whilst in Playa Blanca where must I visit and where not to go ? average price of Taxis ? If hubby decided to hire a car is it ok driving or are all drivers mental
Basically any info you have on this area would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Driving is good in Lanzarote and loads to see.
Cheers Susan
