Can you tell me anything else about the hotel ?
What were the rooms like and the beds ?

You will love it! The rooms were fine, cleaned every day with new sheets and towels. We were lucky we had 2 balconys, room 409 with a sea view. The rooms were ok sizes there were 3 of us and we just re arranged the room put all the beds toghether which no-one seemed to mind us doing plenty of storage space for clothes toiletries etc. We took a kettle and coffeemate for a cuppa, tried to get a fridge but only a limited amount so couldnt get one. The safety deposit boxes were behind reception, we didnt get one and our tickets, cash and passports were in the room all week along with mobiles on view and no trouble whatsoever.

The reception had entertainment till about 930-10pm but nothing after that, rececption bar open till 12 and snack bar by the pool open till 1am.

All in all very relaxing holiday, we loved it!!

We were only there a week and only booked a week before we wnt so had no time for jabs so didnt go on any trips. It was terrible, all we could do was lie all day on the lovely beach! Oh what a life

I've never had jabs for Tunisia and I usually go out twice a year. If you check you will see some are suggested (can't remember which), but that is not the same as recommended and certainly not vital.

I am so much looking forward to it now. It will be me, the wife, my 19 year old son and my 16 year old son.

The hotel is right on the beach which is lovely. I'm hoping the weather will be fine, at least at the start of the month, as I hope to be out there about the same time. I've been several times at that time of year but you can't be sure of continual sunshine in November. I'm not sure if the sunbeds are free but if not they will only be a couple of dinars a day. The Medina is only a short walk away where you can do all the haggling you like, or there is the Soula Centre which is a very large fixed price shop if you don't fancy haggling.

I haven't stayed at the hotel but usually call in to use the loos when on the beach. There are reports on the hotel in the Hotel Reports section of HT so you can check it out. Apparently the entertainment isn't brilliant but you can use any of the other hotels if you want a change. In one direction you will find the four hotels of the Marhaba complex and the three El Hana hotels in the other direction, all of which have entertainment. You can also go into Port El Kantaoui very easily for a change (about 3-4 dinars [£1.50/£2] in a taxi). The Noddy Train is another fun way to travel and very cheap, as are the little purple tuktuks (3 dinar return from PEK to Sousse but hold on tight.:roll:)

I think all the water sports should still be running, including parascending but it will depend on the weather.

Incidentally, I've just checked up and November 3 - 5 and 7th are public holidays in Tunisia (presumably because it's the end of Ramadan). It won't affect you but you may find banks etc. closed. As ATMs are inclined to run out of cash during these times just make sure you have enough to keep you going if you are there then.

Just over a month to go before we go, so i'll post here about what it was like and also post some photo's of the hotel once we get back.

I'm sure you'll have a good holiday and as it seems you are going at the beginning of October the weather should still be great. I've finally booked to go out on 30th October but only for a week this time - El Hana Residence, just down the road from the Royal Beach.

We will either pass you at the airport or in the sky. We fly back home on the 30th.

I rather doubt it as I'm flying into Tunis and getting the train to Sousse as it worked out a lot cheaper. I'm sure you will have a good holiday - save some sun for me please.

Just got a letter today from SunSet saying that the sunbeds are no longer free.

You can use the pool in the hotel or the one just outside. A small shop is on the left hand side and sells clothes and trainers, but you have to haggle for a good price. On the left of the photo up the top, you will find the restaurant and at the top right you will find the snack bar that does pizza.


This picture shows the hotel from the beach. You will be as safe as you could ever be on this part of the beach. The hotel staff keeps sales people away from you.

Has anyone been to this Hotel recently as i am going on 2nd july.Also are salads safe to eat in the hotels as i have read a lot about the water.ASny other advice would be welcome,thanks

Cant help on the hotel but yes the salads are safe to eat. I suffer with stomach problems and always eat the salads with no problem atall. Just make sure you dont drink the local tap water, only clean your teeth with it and only drink the bottled water you buy or get given at your hotel and you will be fine.
