Hi I will be going to Crete in 2 weeks. for a camping holiday. Has anyone else done this? and offer any advice?
I have a map and found a few camp sites but I would like to know which ones are nice with a really nice beach. I want to visit western crete mainly. I was thinking of this campsite in Kissamos.
Any advice will be very helpful.

I am not so aware of camping sites but i do have one thing in my mind. try to avoid popular beaches if you go for ''free camping'' as the police is not happy to see free campers. as you said go for the organised. i have heard good things about the camping site in Matala.
