As far as I know the only boqt used in the film Popeye was the Black Pearl. This is an old barquentine schooner which allegedly belonged to Errol Flynn and was used as the main ship in popeye. Today the boat is secured permanently on Land and used as a restaurant (Personal Reccomendation from me) it is located next to the Yacht Marina Customs house in Ta Xbiex

Hi while we were out in Malta last November we bought a weekly runabout ticket very cheaply, but to be honest it would have been cheaper to just pay the fare, unless you are going to get more than 4 busses a day. If you intent to go from place to place of a day they are great but most busses the fare was only about 18 pence unless you got a few express busses then it was 40 pence. A bit cheaper than home . Sorry dont know about the boat , if you cant find anything out about it ask locals when you get there. We have found them very helpfull. We have booked to go back in November for 2 weeks cant wait. Hope you enjoy yourself

just to avoid confusion, "18 pence unless you got a few express busses then it was 40 pence" should read cents (sorry imp135 for correcting you, but otherwise people might think you had converted the prices into sterling) - just to complicate, prices have gone up since,but only by a few cents

Presumably you're talking about the "Scotscraig" and "Abercraig."

I understand that they both went to Malta in 1966 or 67 to ply the Gozo route.
I heard, a few years later, that one of them sank (don't know which one) and, because of that, the other one was scrapped.

Couldn't have been the "Sir William High" or "B L Nairn." They were both scrapped (at Burntisland, I think).
