My brother and I are looking to go on a weeks holiday within the next 4-5 weeks, requirements as follows:-
Somewhere warm, beach, bars etc. We're not bothered about nightclubs but equally do not want to go somewhere where there is nothing at all. Can anyone advise of a suitable location. Corfu, Palma Nova (Majorca), Rhodes and Kos have been suggested.
It's seem easy to choose somewhere with teenagers vomiting in the streets in the early hours or somewhere where there is nothing there but it's difficult choosing somewhere in-between. Maybe there is no such place?
Any advice appreciated.
Hi, if you are thinking in the next few weeks, i would recommend Penera near Protaras, Cyprus. 
Lovely, peaceful areas, but still plenty of bars, restaurants and shops to choose from. Many apts and Hotels around this area are beside the sea. This area, however, does "shut down" from mid October onwards, for the winter season. Bare this in mind 
You definately WONT be bothered by drunken yobs in this resort-or at least if you are, i will be very suprised!

What about Bitez in Turkey? Beautiful beach, quiet location, but still with bars and restaurants and yet over the hill there is Gumbet where you can have all the nightlife you ever wanted! In the next bay there's Bodrum, which has some bars and restaurants but is much more tasteful than Gumbet.
Have a look at the Turkey forum as quite a few people have been to Bitez so there are plenty of recommendations for accommodation.

Why not have a look at Lagos on the western Algarve?
It's a friendly place with excellent restaurants and bars to suit all tastes from the youngsters' music bars to a sophisticated Jazz & Blues bar. The town is busy but never rowdy and you can sit outside one of the many restaurants which line the main street without being troubled by "yobs".
As for beaches, Lagos has a big choice - from small picturesque coves to a 5km. long stretch of beach which goes as far as Alvor, the next resort.
There is also a beautiful Marina from where you can go dolphin watching, game fishing or just pleasure cruising. One further benefit is that Lagos is on the railway network, so you can explore the whole length of the Algarve if that appeals to you.

Well, obviously Lanzarote would get my vote September/October are IMO the best months and the resort of Playa Blanca is the quietest out of the three.
