Despite a three hour delay in the Edinburgh flight, arrived back safe and sound, to a damp, grey and chilly Scotland!!. Overal we had an ok time but nothing fantastic. There was a day of horrendous thunder storms and we saw a twister coming in from the Med as boarded the boat for Es Cana.
The most disappointing thing was the poor quality of the restaurants and the food was overpriced , the best meal was on our last night in La Ramblas Jardin Restaurant.
Atlas Apartments were fine, the pool was small but clean and the kids loved it. The beaches were fine if a little rocky and the weather was good apart from Tuesday and half of Wednesday.
I found it very priceyand the little market craft stalls that the kids spent some their holiday money on were a real rip-off, you could buy some of the stuff in the department store for half the price.
Things got off to a bad start when we lost a case for a day, which had all the kids clothes and stuff in it, including their swimming costumes. It had gone to the Don Carlos Hotel instead and we got someone else's case.
I'm trying to be positive, maybe if we had more time than just a week, we could have seen and done more. We went to Ibiza Town and that was fine but we had a awful meal there served by the grumpiest waiter ever, he took our 3 year olds cutlerly off him as he started to bang it on the table as we died from hunger waiting to get our food and wouldn't give him anything to eat his pasta with other than a huge serving spoon!!
We went to Formentera, which was nice but it was the day after the storm.
was too rough to swim.
I'll probably post more later as I think about it but right now I have no reason to go back to Ibiza. Nice people, good enough weather and accomodation but...................................
Its a shame your holiday didn't quite live up to your expectations. I have had a couple of just "ok" holidays in the past. I enjoyed them but wouldn't go back. Yes the weather is dismal in Scotland isn't it?!
What are you on about Fiona with that last comment?. Ibiza wan't fantastic but it was ok. we won't go back but then I can't see the point in going back to the same place every year.
I thought I was just acknowledging your post and showing some interest! That'll teach me!
I presume you went Santa Eulalia.Thats the first time I have heard someone say there is a poor quality of resturaunts in this resort.Did you visit the ones on Calle St Vincent?
We're returning to Santa Eulalia next week for the fifth year running, for what we call our "chill week". We call it that because we can just relax for the full week and enjoy the great food & drink.
If you have the time maybe you could add a review to the Atlas Apartments Review page (Link Below)

There are alreadty some but you cant have too many, all the best,John.
The only places that were low quality and overpriced were along the seafront but that is generally true of any holiday resort.
Was in Fife while you were away enjoying the views from Dalgety Bay....really hot and sunny!
regards Simonp
Hi Simon, I come from Fife!!. Nah the whole restaurant thing was maybe a bit of an exaggeration. With only six nights of eating there, it wasn't that bad. La Paella wa ok actually we ate there as the kids were knackered from swimming in the pool all day. The meal in Evissa Town was the worst I have had in a good few years, maybe we just made the wromg choice. Mariners was ok but overpriced, Pier No.1, well we will just draw a veil over that one. Las Ramblas was great and with more time we may have discovered the better ones. With two young kids very hungry and tired, we didn't want to walk around too much. We did find the Euroski and Es Mercado, both cheaper places Atlas were fine but everyone else moaned about how basic they were, we were never in them long enough to notice. I'll go and post a entry in the Atlas bit on Holidays Uncovered. Know what you mean about the Kids club, they dragged us to the Don Carlos five nights out of seven. Still the 5 year old actually won something from one of those claw machines and I did see the goals from the Scotland match!!
Done that Glynis and also reviewed the resort as well.Guess that is it from me. Next year we'll be going someplace else, not Ibiza but not because of anything bad just that I want my kids to experience other places and other countries. Hope you all continue to have good times there or whereever you go.
Just read your resort review.Santa Eulalia beach front is like Blackpool with sun - or almost!!!!
It must have changed since yesterday!
