Far East

Rob,

I think it must have been at night. In the daytime it was probably in the low teens because we were just wearing cardigans or sweaters over our t/shirts and the only time I felt cold was when we visited the top of the Big Buddha on Lantau on a particularly windy day. It was unusual though, and I wouldn't necessarily expect the same weather this year. My friend was there around the same time the year before and she was on the beach in her bikini on Christmas Day!

I don't think it rained at all whilst we were there, but if you have those lightweight waterproofs that screw up to almost nothing it wouldn't hurt to take them just in case. I don't think you're guaranteed dry weather any time of year in Hong Kong.

The Shangri-La's a great hotel. I particularly love the lifts - if you don't know what I'm talking about, look at the floor when you step in :D
