Puerto Pollensa is a lovely resort with good beach and good variety of accommodation. Plenty of opportunities for exploring nearby towns and scenery by car or bus (or bicycle!) No rowdy bars or clubs, lots of restaurants and enough "nice" shops. Backed by mountains but the resort itself is flat.
Cala D'Or is also very nice, but many of the hotels and apartments are a long way from the centre, and space on the rather small beaches can be limited in the high season.

Try INVALID URL We found a great bargain for August 2006
We are 2 adults and 2 children under 7 and have booked last 2 weeks of August 06 in Cala Millor, which is perfect for relaxing, beach and families without the hassle of drunks n clubs!
Cost £450 for 2 weeks, 5 mins from beach. £50 deposit and bal to be paid in sterling on arrival. Owners also collect n return us to airport!
Flights have cost us £80 return each for day flight out, late afternoon return.
Apartment has everything including sat tv, washer/dryer,pool all cooking facilities etc
When do you want to go?

Hi,
Me and my partner are looking to go on holiday next june to Majorca.
I haven't been away for a while trying to get over my fear of flying so hoping Majorca will be a good place to start (short flight). We are not sure where to go on the island or what hotels/apartments are nice.
We are looking for somewhere quite lively, good beach/es, large swimming pool/s, clean, friendly and speak english!? Any help or info would be gratefully appreciated. x

Hi nic16, i found majorca beach hotel in ideal location for the nightlife and accomodation is good aswell. Also i would recommend booking your flight and accomodation seperately instead of doing a package holiday.when you get to palma airport there is a taxi rank outside.Really straight forward, saves you money and gets you to the hotel quicker than it would on a coach.Hope this helps :)

Hi there,

Got back from the Majorca Beach in September - its a lovely hotel and we have already booked to go back there next year. You really can't go wrong for location in this hotel.

Hoping to go on holiday next year. Don't know why, but we fancy Majorca. I haven't been there since 1971 so suppose things may have changed!! We will be hiring a villa. Family of 4 (kids 13/15 years). Hiring a car . Family requirements are quality villa with pool, privacy and fairly secluded. Not too far from nice (quiet?) beach (10/15 mins drive ok). Not really into nightlife, apart from nice places to eat out. Cala San Vicente and Pollenca areas look nice. Any suggestions/advice welcome.
Thanks

If your new to Mallorca, this is good place to start http://www.a2zmallorca.com/ :)

You could do a lot worse than Cala Dor...........there are lots of villas not too far away from the picturesque coves, and its quite an "up market" resort............no lager louts.

Can Pastilla is a nice spot too.........

You are going to get lots of people posting their "favourite" places and confusing you totally! :D

I have just seen some really good prices on flights into Palma airport in late August, but where should we stay (2 adults)? I haven't booked the flights yet as I don't know which resort/accommodation to go for. Also as I've seen cheap flights for Turkey (Dalaman) too I'm torn, so I've put a similar thread on there to see what that throws up. May the best holiday destination win

We want:
 central/clean accommodation
 a good selection of bars/restaurants
 a nice sandy beach close by
 info on transfers from airport

All suggestions gratefully received!

Hi Westglam, it would depend on your ages I suppose as to where to stay on the island and if you are wanting a clubbing type holiday, culture, or just a relaxing holiday as the island caters for all.

Been looking at Majorca for next year. We,re a couple 40+ and enjoy Benidorm. We do like to visit different places during the day but we like night time entertainment eg singers, comedians etc. Best resort please anyone?

Thanks :D

Ally441 Cala Bona is the place for you. Not for clubbers just nice entertainment based in bars or hotels .(tribute bands comedians magicians etc) A lovely promenade and a decent bus service to nearby resorts and Palma.

I think palma nova would be a great place for you to go to.im not really into clubbing but enjoy pubs and entertainment, and my partner and I had a brilliant holiday there last year. There's lovely beaches nearby, a large selection of hotels and apartments, loads of shops/pubs/restaurants so definitely something for everyone
