Went back to Son Parc for the second time in September and stayed at the golf range apartments. It was a great holiday- apartments very good and a very quiet place to stay. There was a lovely pool but not much else, which is how we like it. You did really need a car to get about. Not the ideal place for children of any age but great for couples who just want to relax. We went on the 7th September and it rained for the first two days! After that though it was very hot. If you go self catering and do have a car, it's well worth going into Mahon to the Hypo market to stock up with food as it's so much cheaper. Try the prawns from there, excellent value for money. The food is very fresh there too which we didn't find in Son Parc. We travelled all round the Island and found some lovely places. By chance we came upon the market at Ferrerias, a real old Spanish place with a great atmosphere. They had a live band playing in the street and although the market wasn't up to much it was worth going to. The food in Ferrerias was quite cheap too. If you are driving, take care as there are some bad bends going through Ferrerias. From there we went to the far end of the Island, Ciutadella, another very old place with a nice harbour. Also worth a visit are the caves at Xoroi, (nr Cala'n Porter), with a very interesting story. Los Delfines was very English with lots of bars/burger king/ etc more for the children to do there but not very Spanish or quiet. For a very quiet holiday I would choose the golf range apartments, we are going back again next year. If you want lots of entertainment, bars etc choose Los Delfines.
