Just booked our next summer holiday in Brittany starting on the 18th August 2006 because the ferry time we wanted from Plymouth to Roscoff was only available on the 18th but that's peak rates for first night on site.

Use an overnight stop campsite.

2 nights overnight stop at a site near Roscoff in a tent at £35 per night (or mobile home from £40 night)

First night on our main site in Southern Brittany now 20th August and £300 pounds less than peak rate.

hi book direct with campsite and go from 19th aug french go back to work and the prices nose dive check prices may pay you to can keycamp (sorry keycamps )

going at thaty time of the year good old camping cheques you get over 500 campsites where you don't need to book just turn up and give them your prepaid cheques (last year £9.95/13€50)and irrespective of their charges you get a pitch for van or tent plus electric family pet for 2 people
and on a lot of sites kids are free (one in Spain kids are free up to 12 years old)

they even get decent discounted ferry crossings too
