If so, have booked my apartment in Majorca last 2 weeks in August06 for £450.00............
Contacted owner direct, and bypassed company for quicker and smoother transaction!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the info markas but it looks like a completely different company. It's good to hear that your booking went smoothly directly with the owner, I've been looking at holidaylettings.co.uk
The owner of the California apartments in Cala Millor still have many vacancies for next year....just go onto the holidaylettings page and type in Majorca then Cala Millor, she has 2 apartments available at max price £225 per week for max of 4
Thanks for the help Mark, it's Tenerife-PDLA that I'm looking for though in mid feb
they are a good site to book with, there are rules for both partys to follow
As someone as said Hoilidaylets are very similar to holiday lettings and being an owner who has got an apartment registered with holiday lettings I can verify that this is a very efficient way of booking your accomadation.
Thanks for the help, I'm still looking at various options.
Hi Andy, The accommodation holidaylets.net advertise is booked directly through the owner of the property your interested in. If you email for information it goes direct to the owners email address & they reply to you. I have my property on this website and can assure you it is an Ok site. which is run very efficiently. Regards Jayjan
Thanks jayjan, it was the fact that you book directly with the owner that concerned me and I didn't see anything on the site that really convinced me that the offers of property were genuine. I didn't want to pay out for accommodation and then find out later that I had been duped.
Being an owner advertising on holidaylets.net I cannot guarantee that you will not be "duped".
However this is true of ALL holidays and all aspects of life.
Tour Operators can be 'economical' with the truth.
For example - stating "Room with Sea Views" - yes that is 3 miles away and catch a glimpse between the Apartment blocks.
or "close to local amenities" - when actually 10 minutes drive in a car.
I do believe that most privately owned apartments / maisonettes / villas are genuinely advertised - however it is up to you to read between the lines of the advert.
Making false statements will lead to negative feedback and potential loss of future bookings.
Private owners would prefer to rent to the same few holiday makers who fall in love with the country, the region and the accommodation just like we did.
I guess your fear is that the renatl accommodation does not exist and when you turn up in the resort you will be left stranded with a tired family laidened with suitcases.
Most sites like holidaylets.net have the facility to contact the owners direct via email. We have published our email & telephone No.
It is all about trust.
I would predict 99.99% of property rentals are genuine - but it is the flannel which may be dubious.
Good luck, hope this advice helps

Having booked several independent holidays over the internet quite successfully over the past couple of years I felt, after reading the safe and sound brochure, that maybe I was becoming a little over confident and should perhaps be a little more cautious.
Thanks for your input, it's good to know there are so many helpful people on these forums.
Andy
